my hair is (or used to be) similar to yours, how it gets all "fluffy" or whatever (its not cool bonehead, it sucks). you are probably using the wrong shampoo/conditioner!

i use pantene too, but for a long time i used one for "curls" or for "volume" or something, because i have kind of fine hair. i switch to a shampoo for straight hair (now i use "always smooth" pantene).

It's the best motherfucking shit. it makes your hair smooth and like shiny. its fucking awesome. i have fine hair so maybe its better for me than yours would be, but if you see it try it because it rules. you only need a little bit. also that spray leave-in conditioner works awesome too. i spray like 3-5 sprays on my hair and brush it in, its keeps it soft and smooth all day. it rules. 

although yeah i have fine hair so maybe it works better for me than it would you, but they have other kinds other than "breakage defense". my hair is fine and used to break a lot (and you get those little half-hairs that stand up and look bad) but its much healthier now after using this stuff. maybe you should try the "frizz control" kind or something.

no man your hair is still in the middle-stage of always looking bad. give it a month or two, and it'll start getting good. you're right, once it gets long enough to weigh itself down and not get all poofy and flippy (my hair was exactly the same) it just gets better and better.
