I'm looking to find some fun MMO games that are freeware, or at least allow most gameplay functions for free. Any suggestions?

FPS games get old to me after awhile and they all just feel kind of the same. They're acceptable but I'd like something different. I already play Soldat occasionally and I like it a lot. I mostly don't care what kind of game it is; I just love playing with other people online. Don't recommend Second Life either, because I tried it and hated it. It was too complicated  and hard to get into. I do like MMO virtual life and sim games, though.

I'm playing SMT: Imagine right now. It's a pretty good one, although the grind gets bad at level 30+.

MapleStory but it can get boring without buddies. But if you're a fantasy cartoony fan then you can check it out

Sword of the New World: Granado Espada is pretty good.

Also if you wanna try something different (?) I have a friend thats hooked to that turn based FF style MMO Atlantica.

And If you like "virtual life" stuff Mabinogi is pretty good.

And apparently Runes of Magic is the WoW of F2P MMOs.
Yay! Random words!

granado esparda is totally gay grindfest. It's only main difference from all the other thousand L][ clones is that you control a mini party. Three people who're very weak and crap unless they're riflemen. Plus the auto-grind feature means you don't even need to play the fecking thing. Even FLYFF was more fun than that.
Fucking FLYFF.

Puzzle Pirate is pretty sweet and complex if you're into puzzle games, it also relays a lot on cooperation which is a plus.
It's only semi-free though, basically some puzzles are only available some times of the week unless you've bought some licenses, with either real money or in game unique currency.

Me. Most of the freeware mmos ive played are shit. Just spend a few bucks on Guild wars and you dont have to pay a sbscription.

Yeah um i played this for a while, and the grindfest was horrible from the very fucking start. And quests only come oin after you play the game for a couple hours. What terrible pacing.
P.S. The quests are grinding quests

I actually enjoyed D.O.M.O. (Dream of mirror online) It was pretty fun and cute. lots of sidequests too.
got to lv 27 or so, I should get back to it, plus it has a male dancer class, never seen that in MMORPGs before :D

You know I actually tried Mabinogi and it's surprisingly fun for a blatant anime MMO.  It's nothing I'd probably play seriously, but it's a nice aside when I'm overloaded with work.

Yeah, this isn't actually a bad game. You can change classes whenever you want (starting from whatever level you were before), and it's not too horrible a grind.
