Yeah shit get rid of that tree. It doesn't even mix in anyway (have you tried editing its colours? doesn't work). Also that chip looks terrible without the cliff edges on it :(

Apart from that, fairly nice set of screens.

I have done another redesign for the menu, And have placed the LP digits back on the front page.
And placed the battle character sheet there as well (for the mean time the placeholders that I made in less then a day). They stand idle if they have no status effects and some LP left, do there status pose if afflicted with one and there death pose if there dead :blarg:


And an idea I have, When you talk to NPCs a speech bubble appears in the message box, If its a smiley face you finished a quest or the like, a ... is just plain talk and the ! is shown when a NPC is giving you a quest

@Neok: That is freaking awesome! I'm definitely playing the optional content.

@HolyFlame: It's all good but that map with the tree that sticks out should be taken out, it also belongs to Konix and he doesn't want it in any game. I love that battle screen most though, you've got a clean and nice look there keep it like that!

@Gongo: That menu has so much space in thereI can't help but say try to fill it up or make the menu smaller. The rest of the screens are awesome though especially your edited charsets!

Gongo my only problem with it(Apart from what SW said about the menu) is that the message set just stands out WAY too much for my tastes. So bright compared to the rest of what's going on in those screens.

Sion those faces don't match at all with the characters and the tree and cliffs have already been mentioned. Battle set reminds me of Balmung a lot as well.

Looking good, but I can't see a thing in your completion picture thing. The resolution is too small imo.

I am not sure which one to use honestly. Using faceset = sacrificing spaces for messages + it made messages without faceset awkward.

But faceset makes it kinda cooler, so I am  :fogetshifty:
There won't be much faceset in the game, that is for certain (too much work to make every individual).
Well... I can always go around it somehow but not sure if it is worth it.

Here's how the faceset will look in stats/menu btw.

It's custom. praise it.

And now for the painfully obvious "I didn't think through my ideas for this place" design for Lireseron.


I'm not exactly happy with how Lireseron came out, but I figure it's about as good as it's going to get since I was unable to come up with a good idea for this place, like I have been fortunate enough to do with most of the other towns/dungeons. And I know that there are no shops in this town, that's the way it's going to stay. Even though it had weapon/armor/potion shops in the original game, I believe this will give the towns a different "feel" to them. This will be the only town in the main story area of the game that has a bank (upper-right house).

Yeah, XNA/C#.

SW: I strongly advocate using a faceset. It helps associate the messages with the characters more, even though you get less space on screen for text. Anyway, having less space isn't necessarily bad - it encourages you to write better, shorter dialogue :)

It means that it's best not to make your characters too verbose in their speeches then? So I agree on that one, faces speak more than words, especially good for expressing emotions.

Blaugrana i suggest adding a shadow underneath the hero when he jumps so you are sure of where he is actually at.
