I'm sorry to dissapoint but this game isn't nauseating and it's actually said to be best game I've made ever during all the closed test screenings. I'm glad you like the screenie.  :)

@Mister Big T: Did I read correct? Did he say he worshiped a power called Dooms?

Yeah. I see someone hasn't played Dooms series. Which is a shame, since Angelissa's Quest will explain a lot of stuff about them; including the origins of the Terror Mask.

Angelissa's Quest has no hentai in it at all though, and only one scene contains any sort of a nudity in the entire demo.  (And it is during bath, so that's sort of a reason not to wear clothes)

The game's timeline goes between the time when MISTER BIG T had been killed by the light heroes in Final Phantasy XXX and before his revival at 2, I'd say 70 years prior to those events and somewhat before the start of Saga of Element story series. :)

EDIT: OH what the heck, I'm liking you guys at the moment so....

Why not lay a fence or wall tile over the top?
EDIT: You could also make like, a shadowed tower shape to place over the entire screen, partially transparent, like you're looking down from above, inside the tower or something.

It's not a tower, it's a balcony in a mansion.

Your idea does sound somewhat good though a bit confusing. Can you elaborate, maybe even show a reference to what you mean?

Killer Wolf: I love the sprites. They look pretty fun. The map is hideous, though. That mixture of RTP and SD tiles didn't work at all (though I have been criticized for the same thing).
Some concrete suggestions: Use an extra tile for the wall (three, instead of two); use all three different wall tiles from SD3, not just that one; drop all the RTP; use black moldure tiles instead of that brick; add more elements, because everything is pretty plain. Did you make that chipset yourself?

Mister Big T: That Luciant screen is super beautiful. I never thought I would compliment something from you, but I actually love it.

What the hell? It's just a picture with some RMXP chars put on top. How is that a "super beautiful" screen? The only way that is a super beautiful screen is if Mister Big T drew that background himself.

@ Calunio - Thanks. As far as I know that is a "standard" chipset. I've had it in my rm resource directory for a long time. I tried your suggestions, and the map does looks better now. I'm thinking I may try to make some stuff for it from scratch, though, instead of just trying to scrape by with what I can find.

Well maybe those pano screens don't look "super beautiful" but they're actually quite okay. You don't essentially need to put much work in something before it can look good.

That has nothing to do with this game. And don't worry just because my graphics are so much better I'm not gonna be a sell out like The Simpsons and make this game gay.

EDIT: O'shit top of the page.

This is a start of an epic fetch quest.

Yep...

The first screen is dark, I know that, I'll fix it up later. The second screen shows the two finished char edits (although Kolei's may not be noticable), the third just shows a gameplay shot from Huun Forest, and the fourth is the art for Kolei.

@Lennon: I say you fix the face portrait location and move it so we can actually see it above the text. The canopy overlay is ok, however if you are using such an overlay I would think some big tree bases would be littered all over the area. Its not a like a canopy just floats in the air. The environment looks nice and refreshing.

@Ashramaru: As you can see, I have the message box edited a bit. Now my only concern is the way text will look once its crossed over onto the art, if it will still be readable. As for the canopy, it's really there to add "cinematic effect" if you will, not to portray realism or anything.

Widescreen is best for cinematic effects.

A canopy overlay without any trees large enough to up hold it does not add a cinematic effect it give the game a, "the creator thinks this senseless overlay is useful" effect. Don't get me wrong, I like the use of overlays in maps however the above map does not possess a single tree which is big enough to cover the sky. Either you are in the forest of floating leave clusters or the overlay just looks dumb in relation to the map. I like the new text box perhaps move the portrait a bit to the right to give you more space for text.

Hmm. I have some things to consider. Can't just brush into stuff like this... I think I'm gonna take a little break, I have something planned, it just needs to be developed more.

Thanks for all the comments though.

It's not the overlay that's the problem so much, it's the lack of transparency. It's too apparent on the screen. Increase the transparency to about 95% and it will probably be fixed.

As far as the message box goes, it could use a bit of tweaking. You don't want to cover the text box at all, so you can either shrink the text box so the portraits don't go over it, or shrink the portrait so that it fits into the message box and make it be used like a normal faceset would (except larger of course). You could also put the portrait above the message box, but it probably wouldn't look right.
