3 tile rule? is there a FAQ with all these mysterious rules in it? I will venture a guess that no more than 3 tiles are to be left empty within a building... except hangars, gyms, pools and training rooms.

Ever heard of a lil rule called the 3 tile rule???

3 tile rule was come up by some guy in his mom's basement when they had nothing else better to do so it has less than zero credibilitty, really.  I have no idea why people follow it for some reason. :welp:


Mike, I think 3 tile rule is something along lines that you can only use 3 different tiles in one map or something equally as stupid as that. I forgot what it really was because the stupidity was overwhelming, especially the fact that some people actually thought you'd have to follow it. 


Also I made the room smaller. I didn't want to fill it with tons of random crap, VX doesn't let multiple chipsets so my armory related stuff are seriously only those.  :hmm:

Ehhhh you know what, forget about it.  There's something seriously wrong when I get more constructive criticsm from Digimon hentai site than on site meant for RPGmaking.

But when I see this, a room where there is absolutely nothing, it just rubs me as a bad game. The sad thing is that you think that is good mapping :fogetlaugh:

Also can't you add some rugs or something? Or make the room smaller? Like a form of a T? Is not that I want the room fill with unnecessary stuff, but you can't let it be empty just for fucks sake. I made better maps with VX than that and I seriously suck at mapping, so it say much about you. I just want you to make better maps, cause your dooms game were seriously weird as fuck, and your mapping hurt the experience a lot.

Having said that now, Plz phil rmz! kthx! I like those demons you are using in the last pic too, pretty sure those arent rtp, which is a  bonus. RMXP rtp is HORRIBLE! I hate it more than I hate anything else I can think of right now.

And Finally some in game gameplay for you guys! The ABS has come a long ways.

Added Recently:
You now cannot attack the enemy unless he is attacking you.
The enemy hp bars are bug free now.
I fixed all the lag associated with the system.
Status Effects are now displayed above your health.  (you can see it in the video when Tristam is fighting the blue slime, and then I heal him w\ the antidote, VOILA status icon gone)

(Looks MUCH better when you watch it on the actual youtube site for some reason)

I don't think I've ever called my games having good mapping. In fact, I think I've always said the opposite.  However, what I *did* say was.

Also, how the hell does having bad mapping equal bad game exactly?  :shady:


P.S No, I can't make rugs. There are none in the four chipsets and I'm not talented enough to make one myself.

Well actually that's a bit hard to answer. They're RTP but on RMXP but this is being made on RMVX, I've converted most of the sprites to VX because I like them more than VX stuff. So they are and are not rtp, which I suppose makes them original?  :welp:

The ABS looks quite smooth, but don't you think the trees clash a little to much with the RTP graphics? I would replace one of those.

Quick question, does your game use the typical "shift for attack" or are you using the spacebar/enter key?
I'd suggest the spacebar/enter key because of Windows "sticky key" function if you press the Shift key 5
times in a row (if I remember correctly).

The sticky thing is easy to turn off anyways, but yeah Nackster, about the abs. The animation is really minimalist, it doesn't feel like he's performing any action. I know animations are hard but you can play around with the sprite to be a bit more dynamic and also remember that in an animation you don't dwell on one pose for too long (0.01 sec is p. good.) so they don't have to be too detailed/specific, enough to know what's going on though.

Also I would say there is a contrast issue btwn the rtp grass and those trees. I like the color of the trees more, so I would play with the grass tile to make it match, maybe making it a bit more yellowish green. I mean you could also tint the trees but I'd say they're a better color.

The energy on the enemies is a nice touch, but it's kinda silly how it goes over hero, I know there is no way around this bcz pics/BAs go over sprites at all times, but it just blocks the view a bit. A possible solution would be to put the enemy health in one of the corners like the hud.

So yeah right now it looks kind of confusing, almost like the dude is feelin up on the slime and the slime backs away, so I guess just do some experimentation.

Wells... I like the looks of the MENU, the energy bar, and those displays on the screen.

I am not a sprite artist.. AT ALL PERIOD. I can barely draw stick men let alone animate a sword. I could use some sword characters I have laying around but I like the way my guy looks. Any sprites in my game are probably made in Charas.exe which is a godsend for non artistic people such as myself!

I never really noticed the grass difference until you said that, thats a pretty easy fix :hmm:

I have been wrecking my brains over how to make the pics work the way I want to. I dont want the enemy hp to be in the corner, as I think it looks pretty spiffy where it is. The only other solution I could think of was to have the bar on the vert scale so it would be on the hindend of the enemy and not be able to cover the hero. It doesnt look nearly as cool though.

Yes it does, however I include instructions for how to turn sticky keys off with the game. (btw check your pm box, I sent you the beta today)
