It's DnD Style in the sense that most of it will be taken from the three DnD 3.5E Books I own, particularly the weapons and armour, aswell as some spell strengths.

And yeah 8 party members, all with different stats and such. Decided to get rid of the sideview and go for TBS instead, makes more sense for DnD, even if the attack result is telling me 20 +/- 3 when the actual damage is 12 +/- 2

Here's a quick gameplay video of my project. The game's an action rpg for 1-4 players, and the video shows an archer making her way through a test level.

At one point, I accidentally start attacking a piece of bread, but it all works out in the end  :fogetshh:

Also, how do I embed videos?

@kelikan: Whoa nice chipsets I am surprised that it goes with the RTP doors so well. I :3 like those chickens.

Everything in that screen is slightly edited in one way or another :)

Some very early level design concept art for a game called Splice.

@Jimpo: That game looks sweet. It reminds me somewhat of th 2D Zeldas, but seems more RPG-esque. I like that word. Esque. Esque. Oh yeah, right, erm, keep up the good work. I was confused about the dog(?). Did the archer summon it or what? But yeah, hate to be redundant but lookin' good. Lookin' good.

Yeah, I know. It's something that I'd like to fix if I could.. But it's hard to position them properly or to find monsters that fit their perspective.

It's the heroes that are facing the wrong direction.  The player is going to see their mugs every single battle so they'll got old quickly anyway.  The monsters, on the other hand, are going to be changing constantly so they're the ones who should be facing the player.  Nobody wants to see the ass-end of the monsters--show off their claws, fangs, and all the glory they have to offer.

Yeah, I know. I'm in a weird situation because I don't want the usual side-view battles. I originally wanted to do a Breath of Fire sort of thing and have everything isometric and the characters in the bottom right corner, but I can't seem to make that work with the party placement settings in the terrain tab.

The party placement is so limited unless you use the manual function, but manual is hell if you plan on having several characters, due to the fact that you could end up with Character A overlapping with Character B depending on where you place them.

It's times like this that I really hate my reluctance to learn anything new (see: RMXP and Ruby).

Or you could just deal with sideview and focus on what really matters.

Yeah, I might. All of the styles I have going on sort of clash. It's a bit better now than it is in the video above since I decided to switch the dinosaur graphic to the Tyrannosaurus from Final Fantasy 6.

Hell, I might just go side-view with FF6 graphics since they're pretty easy to edit. I'll probably think this over a bit since I'm at work.

As interesting as Tactics battle characters could be if I worked on them more, the perspective probably just won't work for me at all.

But you're right, Jude. I should just focus on HOW I am making the battle system work and not spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to give it a graphical perspective that just isn't going to work out without manual party.

Since I am releasing Hero's Realm soon (the full game), I put up a bunch of screens, most notably...

...the World Map, final version, all nicely labeled and whatnot.

(Yeah, it's a slightly modified RTP chipset.)

..:: Full game is released.  Download it now! ::..

@To-Chi: Yeah, the wolf was a pet summoned by the player
@VisionaryUnlimited: You need more contrast between the walls and the floor!

Fight! Save the Universe! development is coming along nicely.
Here we get a sneak peek at the ultimate weapon in the game, the laser.  It can destroy normal enemies in an instant, and bosses don't last much longer.
The crystals you see are a rare, unnamed mineral that your ship can be upgraded with.  Small crystals are worth 1, Large are worth 5.
As you can see, there's now a lives counter.  When you lose your last life, BAM. Game over.
Also, I have a functional pause screen.  It's nothing special, but now people don't have to X out when they have to piss! :D

Probably because you showed a pic with some sort of menu system followed by the statement "dynamic inventory or something I guess...". What exactly is it that you're looking for a comment on?

Well, how does it look? I've received various different opinions (like the border is bad, the graphics of the menu could be changed, the screen is too dark, etc.) from different people but not in this topic...  (I mean, isn't that generally on what you're looking for when you post a screenshot? Comments on how it looks?)

People comment on interesting looking stuff, maybe no one found it interesting?   :welp:

arrrgh! You stole my dream!!!!

Not really :p, but I have been wanting to make a space shooter for the longest time, but no time sadly... I have a prototype made, but nothing past scrolling and enemy checks xD

And whats with the kamehameha beam? Is that the standard attack? O_o

idk how you are doing this but I thought manual placement was pretty easy to handle? also this would probably be better if you wanted to force a left toright facing battle or something for a bit of variety.
