Cray: The resemblance to SOM tiles is disturbing. I think it's pretty strange having the trouble to make original sprites when they look like copies. But they look good, anyway. I'd just remove the shadows from trees... unless you're willing to put shadows on everything.

I added shadows to the cliffs now, and I can use those for houses or any big structure.
About the rassemblence, well I want to make a SoM clone, with similar gameplay but different story, and original characters, so I want to keep the SoM feel the most possible.

@Azn - I guess he missed the train then? Also there really isn't much to comment on, is it the color tone because since I don't know what your going for all I can say is it fits the scene well enough.

I'm seeing how well the Terranigma charset fits with the Theodore chipset (both recolored). I've gotten all positive feedback, but only from a few people--I think it's working out though.

I am really digging the hairstyles of your human sprites, sleeping_wind.
Yeah, I use a lot of time making hairstyles for the sprites. Especially for the main characters since I want them to look, you know, unique interesting.

I probably will since RMVX's scripts confuse the heck out of me. Not to mention the side battle script still have parts written in Japanese  :welp:
Damn you Enterbraiiin I want RM2k3 EX ( I want to make Front Mission 3 Kind of battle system).

Fun Fact : Most of my game progress are stuck/ stopped in making sprites (i.e. I kinda abandon stuff after making the sprites). Also battle animations.

I made a set of male and female templates to expedite the sprite generation process. The guy in the bandanna was supposed to be a guy name Taurus who I designed as an optional party member. After starting to work on the main character's battle and cutscene/conversation artwork, I redrew Taurus to make him a little younger looking. Now, I'm thinking of casting him as the lead instead. At least I'm not indecisive... well maybe I am.

@Cray: Are those SoM-inspired graphics made for RMXP? The little sword hints that they are. If so, that's pretty awesome, since RMXP's RTP is pretty poopy. If not, they're still pretty good. It'll be nice to see what additions you can come up with now that you've got the style down.

Well, I tried. But I always find it difficult in writing the story.

I mean uh, just worried that if I ever finish the game, the story would be so bad that the graphic would be the only thing people play it (salvage tiem!)

You could throw together a completely cliche game with good graphics, and I can promise you that at least a few people would play/enjoy it.

The blank areas are to be added later manually (MS PAint/Photoshop whatever) otherwise the positioning looks weird. (ignore top left building ok, I forgot to fix that ages ago).

Also I remember why I am stuck with the game for some silly reasons:
1. because I need to make mountains and forest as part of the island but I have no clue how to merge the chipset

2. Because I am not sure to use this as a "picture" based map (overview) or normal map where you can move around as a person (not overview). Either way, you have to click at places to enter.

3. Because I give the player Melee and Ranged status (attack and Int; changed in the database) and sort of freedom to use which stats they want to focus on/develop.

But here's the catch; the main PC is Melee dominant, so that makes Melee/Ranged choice a bit useless  :welp:
Been bothered by this for days ahahaha

I can change it to Accuracy (attack) to make it simple but that makes the 3rd stats (int) useless somehow. Also less freedom in stats growth.

Stupid reasons I guess  :welp:

This is very true. Sad, but true. Considering you can make a game with the best story and gameplay ever on here and if it's not eye candy people will turn it off. Trust me, I know.

Neok, big improvement, but the 2nd shot looks a bit more like a platformer/streets of reage perspective. Maybe it has to do with the sprite,  or the somewhat of a lack of a roof tile. So yes it looks cool it just depends what perspective you're going for. (I'm guessing reg rpg 3/4 top down because of the 1st shot.)

King it's supposed to be in that perspective as Alter Aila Genesis is a side scroller.

This is very true. Sad, but true. Considering you can make a game with the best story and gameplay ever on here and if it's not eye candy people will turn it off. Trust me, I know.

Welp, I always think Good graphic + bad story = Stealfest Nah but the reverse also true for me; except Decent graphic + Good story is enough. Also gameplay helps, but ehh, these are personal preferences so not valid for everyone (don't want to raise an argument over this).

@SupremeWarrior (Bit late), Yeah I will at least try to darken the tables a little bit. At first I just tried to use as few colors as possible but it might just look better the other way.

For some reason I'm not able to see the screenshots on this page, so I'll check those later on.
