Moon for the DS is basically a first person action adventure along the lines of metroid, but unlike prime hunters this is acually an adventure game and not just some shooter. Let me just go out and say this, when DS does 3D it mostly looks like shit but this is an amazing looking game for the DS. It runs on an impressive 60 fps and it's animation and cutscenes animate like it would on a console. Also they use bump mapping instead of textures. This looks like a game which metroid prime hunters should have been: A FUCKING IMMERSIVE ADVENTURE and not some run and gun. Here is a video:

I've been looking at it recently as more previews and impressions have been popping up.  I'm also in need of a new DS game since I'm nearly done with Soul Bubbles anyway.

See I actually enjoyed metroid prime hunters so I can see myself dusting off my DS and giving this a go. It does look better than an N64 game which is pretty good for the DS. They must've written some really neat code.

I will admit, hunters had a good wifi deathmatch matchmaking for it's time but the ds games like Call of Duty:WaW gave players the choice of what mode they wanted to play with in matchmaking. I like the fact that Moon has no multiplayer....i think it has none.....

This game makes me want to buy another DS. I mean, there are other games that I want, but this is the stick that  broke the camel's back. I loved Metroid Prime Hunters, I mean I was never able to beat it because of the fact that there were pretty much two bosses repeated four times, but it was still an awesome game.
About the fuck yous, don't take that seriously sir. Well, you can if you want but I wouldn't.

Man, that does look ridiculously smooth and pretty for a DS GAME.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought instantly "Oh man, this would be so cool! Do a game about moon landing and exploring a huge land, next gen graphics on the freaking moon man! Like that Afrika game... This is going to be AWESOME" then I saw "Nintendo DS" and my heart fell.

EDIT: just watched the video, this game looks pretty good. Despite the fact I'd rather just have a next gen exporation game.

I knew you were joking. And I didn't hate hunters as a "Shooter", but as a "Metroid" game it was dissapointing.

That would be epic, it would be like endless ocean but on the moon and you can explore it and stuff with a moon buggy. Hardcore players would probably think "GO AROUND THE WHOLE MOON AND BLAST ALIENZ AND ROBOTZORZ FTW!!!" and i wouldn't mind that either...oh wait that is what this game is, but I guess it could be on a larger scale if put on a next gen system...

Yeah I'd have to agree. As a Metroid game it was pretty slack, as a game by itself though, it was pretty good. But it's hard to follow up on the other Metroid Prime games and the original ball-busters like Super Metriod and Zero Mission(ha, original) when you're using less powerful technology. I mean, more innovation but yeah what with the less yeah.

I'm one of these few people that enjoyed Hunters as well, but the single player campaign was pretty cack. I put ridiculous hours into the multiplayer mode though, only stopping when it got flooded by invincible auto-aiming korean gods. :(

I'll definately be getting this.

I don't have a DS so I dunno what to say about the game itself

lol use of Japanese name actually makes sense (Tsukigami)

the rover levels look cool but the indoor stuff looks ridiculously mazey

Just realized that this is from the same people who did Dementium: The Ward which also pretty good save for a few design choices and that one too ran at 60 frames per second.  Just kind of sucks their games don't get much exposure and even Dementium I've only ever seen sold at Gamestop.

I'm gonna say that this game is fucking awesome. I was playing it earlier today, and I'm a few levels in and it's absolutely brilliant. The graphics are nice, the gameplay is nice (very similar to Dementium: The Ward) and it's just quite cool really.

I recommend it for anyone who likes adventure shooters.

Dementium was alright but I think this is much better. I think this game had much more hype than Dementium ever did from the DS fanbase, and that is saying somthing. Oh and a weird glitch was found by IGN:

For those who have (or are planning) on picking up the game right away, there's very little to worry about, since you're reading this review and will know how to avoid it, but should you hit the bug it'll require a game restart, which is about an hour or so into the game, so watch out. During that first Lola mission, players are prompted to go on-foot to a new hatch. Farther down the road (after driving past the waypoint marker and away from the objective) there's a garage which is actually used in a later portion of the game. I mistakenly drove there, slammed the vehicle to the very back of the garage, and rather than turn around and drive out, left the buggy on the lift and decided to walk back to the on-foot section from there. When exiting about 40 minutes later from that mission, players are prompted to drive the Lola into that garage and take the lift to another section. When I got back in it, the level ended before I was fully in the dirver's seat, starting off my next mission (a time-based race) with no vehicle. It's unfortunate that such an odd bug made it through testing, and crash bugs are never fun, but it's far from inside the main course of the game, and as long as you avoid that garage and drive where you're prompted to go during that first Lola mission, it's smooth sailing. For anyone that does want an updated build when it's fixed, it sounds like Mastiff is going to be pretty accommodating. For net-savy, hardcore gamers out there though, ignoring the garage and passing the bug is no difficult task. It's a rare instance, and one that the majority of players won't ever know of, or be affected by.
How did that get there?? Glad renegade kid fixed the problem though, shows some good dedication!
