Which is way more expensive than CGI, and while Hollywood can afford it they will not pay more than they have to.

Some directors like to have real stuff in their movies rather than CGI just because they think it looks more real then and they are willing to spend extra cash on this. Could be a giant frisbee as well though, you know. Maybe it was closer than you think so it looked even bigger?

But wouldnt there be signs of an asteroid along the floor sorrounding the turbine or maybe fragments left behind?

Who knows... it might have exploded into smaller pieces on impact with the blades or burned up completely. It's far more likely than a UFO.

Why didn't anybody take a picture of it by the way? Surely there must have been cell-phones with a camera 4 years ago? This thread is getting fishier and fishier. It's super fishy now.

I thought of this exact same thing when i read the OP. I call bullshit (but I want to believe!!). Why wouldn't you be like "O SHIT quick someone got a camera!?"

We had been away for like a few days so alot of our phones were dead/I didn't even have a camera phone. I didn't even think of it at the time, I was more trying to take it in.

Keep your doubts coming because you can't justify it haha

Damn, you got me there. Did this "UFO" have any propellers or like rocket-thingies attached to it? Did you see how it was able to hover and then - a second later - break the sound barrier?
