nah its okay the reason I didn't want to move it is all the whitenoise raging about hiphop. I'll sum it up once I eat breakfast and add a few things and also yell at you both,

Yell at me?! for what

I got some lists right here....

Nas, K-OS, Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Outkast, Jeru the Damaja, De La Soul, Jedi Mind Tricks, Sage Francis, Del the Funkee Homosapien, Aesop Rock, Das EFX, Gang Starr, Common, Mos Def, The Roots, dead prez, Big L, Tupac, Deltron 3030, EPMD, Wu-Tang Clan & any of their solo albums (GZA, RZA, Ghostface, Raekwon, Ol' Dirty Bastard, etc).

there's enough material in there to last you a while. if you don't know where to start and just want to know some good albums then try:

Nas - Illmatic
K-OS - Joyful Rebellion
Rakim - The 18th Letter
RZA - Bobby Digital
GZA - Liquid Swords
The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II Tha Pharcyde
Outkast - Aquemini
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
Jeru the Damaja - Wrath of the Math
The Roots - Phrenology
Notorious BIG - Ready to Die

also thanks for this. i've definitely heard of most of these and have quite a few of these (still have to listen more ...). i asked someone in september who lives on my floor for recommendations because he listens to hip-hop 24/7 and i was way more clueless back then and he just said "NWA is all you need man" .... ):

Handsome boy modeling school's first album("so.. how's your girl") is really cool, and if you're new to hip hop, I'd suggest checking that out *grabs another lp from backpack* also check out Dr. Octagon, and I'll definately put my money on Deltron3030, it's one of my fave albums. A concept album about rap battling mechs in outer space...

btw, I've been listening to Lightnin Rod lately, he's really cool, 60's rap. Doriella Du Fontaine is great.

Ol dirty bastard is my favorite rapper ever.

A lot of people think he's some kind of novelty but dirt mcgirt had one of the most interesting deliveries ever, he had a swagger like a motherfucker, and was fucking shameless. Is there any hidden underground rapper who's anything like this guy?

uh nothing you said makes it sound non-listenable.

seriously though brooklyn zoo is one of those albums that gets too little cred because too many people focus on a supposed gimmick but is actually really solid and probably the best extension of wu tangs whole outside of gangster but not entirely pastiche.

That's pretty much true of all music with lyrics

I know, but I don't think it makes it unlistenable. He was just excited! :)

this is a good list.  i like k-os but i wasn't sure if anyone else did at all.  i brought them up to steel and he didn't seem to give a shit, and i put some on my mixtape and no one mentioned them.  to be fair i don't think anyone actually listened to that so maybe that's why.

Okay, now that my hip-hop thirst has been satisfied... could someone recommend some electro and house music? So far I've only gone as far as Daft Punk and I'd like some more music like that, if anyone can suggets some artists?

yeah here's some electronic that's not DAFT PUNK or MASSIVE ATTACK

I'll probably think of some more stuff like hopefully some slower music but I'd need to think about it also any IDM made in America is like fucking horrible including my stuff

also I haven't listened to either in quite some time but The Chemical Brothers are infinitely better than The Crystal Method. They seriously sound like The Chemical Brothers as elevator music lol only reason anybody knows them is because they have a name that makes people lol and their music is in 3 FAST 3 FURIOUS kind of movies

Cylob/Kinesthesia seems like really dorky but probably should look into him I don't know if it's really possible to find his music (he's some guy on Aphex Twin's record label)

I don't like Squarepusher

the action-packed mentalist brings you the motherfucking jams

Edit: .

Also I don't know Justice other than people on GW what are your channels for finding music

like is it just that he's in CAR COMMERCIALS all the electronic music you guys know is car commercial music it's so corporate man

Edit: yeah this track is like kid 606 in that it's like every rave song in a blender

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8BNuJWOqFc&feature=related

Edit: This is like the only ANGRY song of his I like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaNW4kSOvmo

I mean they're all pretty aggressive but Detrimentalist still feels like a parody of music like Kid 606 just darker this one is obvious that he liked dudes like Doormouse etc.

Edit: That one is from a concept album about how much Winnipeg sucks (Winnipeg is a Frozen Shithole)
