Well it isn't really strange because that is kind of the general claim by Americans. It's kind of reinforced by not being on any big name network frequently and not having a lot of money hyping it. And even then the Beckham deal hasn't done a whole lot for the game either. The only time I'll hear any serious talk about soccer is when the world cup will role around World Cup.
