So while I was on Ign, and some of you may be familiar with this, instead of leaving intelligent comments they leave spam usually referring you to one of the of those pyramid complete the offers and have others do it and get a free ps3 schemes. Well, I clicked on one because it sounded like something I had looked it earlier and thought not much of but it was to a site called goozex.com where you put your games up for trade and you use the sites currency of points to buy games off other members, and some of the deals are dirt cheap. they give you 100 points just for signing up and with it I could have bought final fantasy chrystal chronicles, usually about $15 in game stores still last I checked. Has anybody checked out this website before? What do you think of it? its free to join and you can get games just by trading your games, or you can buy points. 100 points for 5 bucks, 200 for 10. they had games like dark sector on it for 250 points. thats 15 bucks for that game. i just signed up tonight, I didn't make any trades yet because I'm still figuring it out. They have a referall program, 100 points for each referred member, but I didn't want to cloud this forum up with spam and get banned. If anybody wants a referral from me, not like you need it, youd just be giving me a gift, pm me. But use this to discuss the website.

I've heard decent things about it on other forums. Haven't tried it myself though.

the free 100 points is a cool way to get that old game you always wanted but couldn't find again or didn't want to shell out the money for then, and you can get it for free now.

if anybody is interested in trying it out just for that I'd be happy to refer you lol. we could get like a free game ring going on here lol.

Goozex eh? Hmm. I've seen the points been referenced on another one, but never actually checked. Seems cool, even though it doesn't exactly say if it's America only. But trading in for points, and only having to pay $1 is just... wow.

How much would i get if you referred me? Cause i have no interest in using this site to sell my games, but metroid Prime 2 is 250 points there. And i want it.

youd get 100 points and a trade credit. i don't know how you get more trade credits outside of trading in games....haven't done anything with it yet. if you refer anybody you get another 100 points. then they're basicaly 5 dollars for 100 points, discounts if you buy in bulk.

I have a Goozex membership.

It's not a scam or anything, the site makes its money off of the trade credits people buy.  It costs $1.00 for 1 trade credit.  You don't actually get trade credits for trading in games, you only get Goozex points.

You would need 1 trade credit for every game you want to "buy" off the site, plus the needed amount of Goozex points.

The only way you can get trade credits is either by continuously referring people, or by purchasing the points.

It certainly is a money saver though, the trade in value for most of the games is much more than what you can get from Gamestop or anything so I prefer to trade my games on there.  I've traded more than 75 games since I started in 2007 and I've "bought" more than 50.

Here is my profile in case anyone cares:

Totally recommended.

Goozex can be used by Canada and the United States.  No international support as of yet.

I've not heard of WareZ but on Goozex people are pretty curteous and trustworthy.  Occasionally trades do go bad (I've had a few) but the Goozex administrators are very quick to fix the problems and are good at weeding out scammers.

This is a really cool thing, but I only rarely buy new games and usually only buy ones that I know for sure I like, so I don't have that many games I'd like to get rid of.  I think my brother used this a while back though, it's a great idea for people who get rid of games a lot.

I am sort of the same way but I lucked out because when I intially started I had a crap load of old PC games that had just been sitting around for years which I listed (a couple of them are still there, lol).

Then I bought an Edge DS I didn't need my actual DS games anymore so they went up.

Then my 60GB backwards compatible PS3 went for a poop and I had to buy a new 80GB one (less the backwards compatibility) so I didn't have anymore use for my PS and PS2 games.

For the most part I haven't listed any current gen games unless I bought them on a whim on Goozex because of their pricepoint and then realized they were that many points for a reason...  :fogetsad:

see now i would never do this because i would think "well i will get a ps2 sometime on the cheap and get to play them again" and i don't get rid of games just because i have pirated copies

Do you mean they're hard to play on an HDTV because of the video quality or something else?  Because I've played things as far back as NES games on a big HD TV and it doesn't bother me at all.

Video quality.  All the PS2/1 games I tried to play from my old PS2 on my TV just come out looking awful.  The colours are off and everything is jaggy with some severe motion blur.  I tried playing around with the settings but I can't get anything right.

I could play my PS2/1 games on my PS3 though, maye because of the smoothing settings and such.

I've not tried to play anything older than that on my TVs.

I just consider the fact that they looked like that on a bad TV too and it just didn't bother me.

lol but they didn't look THAT bad, that was my problem...

The resolution on the HDTV is just too large to properly show the PS2/1 games.

Most PS2 games run at 640 x 448 or something like that and my TV does 1920×1080 that is like magnifying all the ugly by like 3 times...

I've had a good experience with Goozex. Sayswap.com is awful, though, especially now that they charge a monthly subscription. It's automatically extending my trial until I get a game but I've still been waiting a few months for someone to send something I've selected and nothing so far. :/
