Well, the game just released today on the Xbox 360! I downloaded it an hour ago and went on only to find that I cannot connect to servers. It will stay on the window that says "Searching for Games" and it won't join any. I understand that there was going to be some server issues, but I never expected it to be THIS bad....

I've been trying to play this but I keep getting errors, can't wait though.

When it comes to the console available battlefields, I was really disappointed with Bad Company. BF2: Modern Combat was easily the best multiplayer experience I've ever had, and I have so many fond memories. (This was back on ps2, the one released for 360 had changes to it but it was still okay..)

And for some reason it seemed to be the only game in console existence that I know of where you could simply highlight a players name during gameplay and check out a very detailed stats briefing (kills/deaths, vehicles destroyed , medals earned etc) where in new titles like Call of Duty you can't even check people's stats in the menus... Seriously... STATS = <3

I no longer own a ps2 but I've been thinking about buying one just for this game.. cause on 360 this game is completely dead and youll usually find one server online playing the same boring maps over and over again..

But apparently on ps2 it has even more people than Bad Company..

Ahh... the memories..

I used to be about as good as this guy; basically CTF on this map, Bridge Too Far, I'd play over and over again.. actually with this weapon as well.. (although this guy is playing the conquest mode)

Tapping L2 twice really fast made your guy belly flop like that, a really good tactic and for some reason really damn fun.

Oh also these were the greatest graphics I've ever seen on ps2 except for maybe God of War..

It's a good game but...

It's taken me like 3 days AFTER buying it to experience playing it properly. I had a couple of quick games before that but the servers have been SO BAD that it's been almost impossible to get in a game since launch. It seems a lot better now but I still get random freezing and lag in some games (this is on XB360).

Other than that yeah it's pretty good. My main gripes are how the Infantry class weapon is utterly pathetic and just loses to the Rifleman. In fact everyone might as well be the Rifleman except on Guadalcanal where the Scout is pretty good. Seriously, it's by far the strongest of the three.

I've had a few bugs too, namely, when flying a plane, your plane just totally locks out and plummets to the sea with nothing whatsoever you can do about it. Also random black spikes appearing all around the map, a weird graphical bug.

Still I'm enjoying it, really like Iwo-Jima, that's a really cool map. It's worth the cheap price, though I hope they will add more maps. 47 million worldwide kills on Xbox/PS3/PC will unlock a new map apparently, called Coral Sea, which is exclusively planes, so it will be just one big dogfight!

EA's servers have gotten better, but they are still a bit buggy. Currently I am rank...I think fifteen and my favorite map is Guadal Canal because of how huge and beautiful it is. Also, I personally like all classes, I can kill people with the infantry's weapon just as well a the riflemen but only when up at medium/close range but then again thats what the infantry specializes in. Plus I don't think one should just play as the Riflemen all the time as rifle grenades are fucking useless against tanks making the soldier's missile launcher much more effective. I did see that weird spike glitch too, but i didn't see that with the planes(since I barely get to fly them since just like in good ol' 1942, they whore the fucking planes). I am best with both Infantry and Rifleman but I suck terribly with the scout mainly cause I suck at sniping in general :/. I am also amazed at how fast the kill count is going up, its got over 21,000,000 kills already as of now(they are combining PS3 kills and 360 kills) and it is constantly going up, at this rate coral sea will be ours in like another 2 or 3 days.

So I went through my 30 minute trial, and the second half I utterly kicked ass with the rifleman class.. Just point, don't think about lining up perfectly and just giver shit. \\Ownage\\

but anyways, say if I deleted this & re-downloaded it would I get another 30 minutes?

Nope, they make you buy the game because the people at EA are douche bags and aren't giving us a demo like 1942(where you could only play wake island, but there was no damn time limit). Also I found out that they aren't combinding PS3 and 360 kills, I misread that. We 360 owners are very close though as we have over 35 million and ps3 has only 19 million at the time i posted this. PS3 should really get more players into this, then again their community has less people than xbox but 19 million is still pretty good.

Well that sucks, this looks like pointless arcade fun I'd want to have but I just don't want to pay 1200 points for it. I already have Bad Company, but hardly ever play, and I'm already committed to saving up ms points for all the Fallout 3 DLC.. which would force me to dish out about 50$+

Maybe sometime in the future I'll think about getting this, when my work hours get better. :/

You definitely should, I have a feeling that the servers will be loaded for a long time to come since it made most popular arcade game in just 1 or 2 days! I am having fun with it and I am glad the servers are working almost 100%!

Yea, maybe eventually. I did dish out 20$ for castle crashers at a time where I had no real source of income - and that game's only good really for local play.

hey so this is a lot of goofy fun! It's so quick and easy to get into, spawn times are nice and short so the action is fast and it's just a lot of fun! The server problems seem to be fixed - the only disconnect or failed connection I had was when my ISP accidentally physically DISCONNECTED me from the internet which obviously isnt EA/DICE's fault.

I especially like Air Superiority, the dog fighting is really fun once you get the hang of the controls. I've had some ridiculous ACTION MOVIE moments of diving through those natural rock archways trying to shake guys off my tail. It's a shame so many people try to camp the spawn points on the carriers though.

WHY SO SERIOUS HAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

You quickly forget that this is just an Arcade game - easily the best of the bunch too.

Yeah, as much as I love that mode camping is annoying. Not to mention that sometimes, everyone spawns on one aircraft carrier and not the other one. I sometimes see this happen, I could spawn on a carrier with like three or four people waiting for a plane and then there is another carrier with 2 planes on it, and nobody would spawn on it! I wish the carriers still had the rope ladders from 1943, so you can get back up if you fall or want to go on another carrier without flying there. Oh well the game is still good though.

Soooo people playing it on XBLA, what're your tags? It's boring that no one uses voice chat or bothers to do any real coordinating in public games, I'd love to play with a few people who would actually try a bit of teamwork. I try calling out positions to people in my squad but they never show the slightest interest and just stand around while they get capped like chumps.

Also is it just me or is it way easier playing in first person in vehicles? Yeah you get more visibility around you in third person, but I find it WAY easier lining up shots in a tank or plane in first person. Planes it general feel much easier to fly in the cockpit view too, and I'm not sure why. it just feels a lot more natural.

Yeah back in my battlefield days, using tanks and helicopters switching from 1st to 3rd person was really a tactical move. Always use first to aim and engage, third person to swiftly check around your area.

I'm really wanting to buy this though, I got paid yesterday but my bank is closed till tuesday, so I can only take out 20 a day for now. Plus on Sunday it's my best friend's 19th, so, yeah.
