Alright, it's less than a month away now so I figured I'd make a topic.  This one's purpose is just to go over the final details, things like directions, itinerary, list of guests, etc.

The meet starts on Friday January 30th whenever people start showing up at my house (anytime after 12pm is fine).  That night we're going bowling--weather permiting.  If you can't make it until Saturday that's cool too.  On Saturday we're going to go downtown and do some outdoor skating and whatever else people feel like doing.  We can stay there for as long or as little as people want (it'll probably depend on the weather).  There's quite a few things to do downtown and we can figure that out on the Friday.

Then, at 10pm EST on Saturday we'll be at my house watching UFC 94 for some evening entertainment.

On Sunday people can head home whenever they want.  I figure we'll probably do another breakfast somewhere, hopefully somewhere closer this time.

There is a good chance that the weather might be really bad and driving conditions could be horrible.  If the weather is so bad that driving to my house would be dangerous then I'm prepared to reschedule the meet but hopefully that won't have to happen.  Also, if the weather is really bad on the Saturday we'll probably just end up doing stuff around the house instead of driving anywhere (to downtown).

If you need directions to my house, let me know though I think most people should have them by now.

Yeah, you'll want to take a Greyhound.  There's a station here in London, it's downtown.  I can arrange to meet some people there that are bussing in.

My brother and I will be there, barring anything wrong with the kids. dX, you will have to PM me directions to your house since you've moved since the last meet. If you're buddy's coming again then I've got a full car and we're cool. If not, I've got one seat open.

Also, UFC = awesome.

The only thing I really have to do while I'm in London this time around is I have to go to the bead store for my mother-in-law. It'll probably take me half an hour or so to get that knocked out of the way, so I'll probably just escape real quick on Friday and get it done and over with (it's just up the road from your place, Iz). And there is a good chance that Matt and I will have band practice on Sunday so we'll have to leave before noon in order to get dX home, pick up our instruments and get to the practice house before 3, lest my father-in-law tracks us down and beats us stupid.

My Wii is currently hooked up at my in-law's house, and it's one of Autumn's favorite toys so could anyone bring their Wii? I've got the black behemoth PS3 but I've only got the one controller and no multi-player games save for SC4. I'm also up for cooking Friday night but if we end up going out it'll be cool with me, too.

As far as the weather goes, we'll just have to play it by ear.

Ok, that's great, and yes the bead store is just down the road, my mom's talked about it before I think.  We can get a Wii if we need one but we should be covered for entertainment so I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd be down for some cooking on the Friday as well.  I've been trying my hand at making some dishes so I'd probably be able to lend a hand this time.

daaamn. its over 80 bucks for the round trip plus a potential 4 hour drive!! stupid grey hound!!
if anyone is driving through toronto to london, i love to hitch a ride and pitch in for gas rather than spen 80343 dollars on annoying public transit!!

hopefully i can just get a car that weekend instead :\

Are you going to be able to get a plane into London or are you going to need pick-up from the airport?

Edit:

4 hours one-way from Toronto to London? What, will the bus be driving backwards down the shoulder and stopping to pick up hitchhikers along the way?!

The two hour bus is an express and just runs from Toronto to London, the 4 hour one would stop at a few cities along the way.

I think it would probably be cheaper to take the bus. We've usually got access to 2 or 3 cars so if we go anywhere in London you'll be able to catch a ride with one of us.

If I'm going to cook for Friday night, now would be a good time to pipe in with dinner suggestions. Since it'll be about a hundred below zero outside I don't think we'll boil to death using the stove like we did in the summer, so I could throw in a roast or a pork roast, or even chicken again. If I can de-gluten-ize my baked pudding maybe I'll do that, too.

hey i might come to this!

i know a greyhound ticket from waterloo (my university) to toronto costs something like $14 with a student discount, so i can't imagine this would be too expensive!
