It's alright if we set up camp first, and don't drink too heavily. Last thing we need is someone drinking too much and cutting themselves in the middle of nowhere. Unless we just went to one of those fake campsites where you park a car and get crunk.

As long as nobody asks for a haircut, or is handing them out, I think we don't have to worry about the getting cut part. I know first aid and CPR so we're good there. As long as Mamamack doesn't need CPR it won't be too awkward

Uh yeah, I can see camping being not such a good idea.  And I've been on like ten camping trips soooo...

dude look at it more this way; approx 90% of the shit you guys did was around electronics. you go camping, you now have a bunch of nerds in fairly close quarters all forced to do mostly physical activities to bond.

Considering the sort of stuff we did in the summer was go to the beach, play volleyball/frisbee, playing basketball at some school court etc etc I doubt it'd be a problem. It was mostly tv/game playing in the evenings this time because it was so frickin' cold out. Also in summer we're going skydiving, so yeah. You could cut out the electronic shit and half of us wouldn't notice. There'd definately be a few people getting awkward though.

I'd be up for camping, but it'd be best if you could find one of those 'activity' camps where you have shit like canoeing (as mentioned), abseiling, bungee, hiking routes, rock climbs, etc.

camp? nu-uh, no. my friend anne frank did that once, and the end result was not pretty.

Camping wouldn't be that bad but I suggest just making a fire and going fishing or something like that.

where you get the out door experience and none of the hot/insect/other annoying bullshit. I'm all up for some drinking and fishin though

The worst thing about trips like this is that I'm incredibly bored now, even though I've been home less than 24 hours. It'll take me a while to readjust to non-hectic normalcy again. :(

So far it looks like we're going camping and skydiving in the summer lol I'm game for the camping, but I refuse to get on a plane, I hate heights.

Cool. My work buddy sounds into it too. Though, I better keep an eye on him and hang his food for him... he's too city slicker to 'get' that bears and raccoons like food.

Also why is everyone so opposed to camping? Like, the worst is that someone gets injured and breaks something, but shit happens and that's what hospitals are for.

There are a few good camps not too far from the London area where you can setup for the night but still go canoeing, the beach, etc for the day. Activity camps like Sarevok mentioned.

Algonquin is definitely too hardcore for GW'ers as a group. You've literally got to deal with bears and other big scary shit out there so for an in-experienced group, it'd be a bad idea but the more controlled campsites/beaches I think would be a lot of fun.
