I like the occasional cheesy music as much as anyone but some people's entire musical library consists of metal, that's what I was talking about earlier.

I love your sweeping generalization. I contend that while much of it lacks originality, it's not unheard of for a piece of music holding great artistic merit to be found somewhere in the metal genre. The same could be said about any genre, actually.

This applies to art/shit -ratio on a basic level, but the only genres I can come up with that have got even close to the fondue dripping level of metal are trance, euro dance and perhaps jazz fusion. Gotta love that hole ridden rhythm section and those creamy sax solos. You have to get your daily 55g of protein from somewhere you know.

Also Ramci, your using of Iron Maiden as an example is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Oh and probably that new age world music whatever stuff. I know next to nothing about it, but everything I've heard has been cheesy as hell.

The second one is average cheesy prog metal and pretty far from art.

yeah this is what i was saying or are you still just in the explaining everything kick?
i think i just misinterpreted you a little. i thought you claimed that anybody who says does that WELL THAT'S YOUR OPINION is just jealous and i thought "uhh what? I don't think it's really about that" and went ahead, bam.
and yes, i wanted to clarify to idk Brad i guess but ended up saying my thing to everyone, not to mention the last few lines were redundancy.

yeah i probably should've thrown more quotes in. I was saying that i hate the argument "That's you're opinion" and also the argument "you're just jealous." I have had people actually saying i was jealous of christopher paolini because i said he was a shit writer.

Oh please. At the very least you're an idiot operating on a very shallow definition of the word art (it only includes the kind of music you listen to right? in which case please dismount your high-horse), and I disagree completely. I may not fancy Tupac or Beethoven (he wrote a few cool songs tho) but I would still call their music works of art.

If you think the song I posted is cheesy well that's your prerogative.

no its not.

you haven't been listening to prog metal if you think disillusion is it.

i'm not even saying GOOD BAD but they aren't very AVG PROG METAL considering the singer screams half their shit. this is not a prog metal characteristic as far as I know!

if I remember right they are death prog metal or something which is far from the average prog metal band. I feel really gross talking about any of this.

Metal is pretty lame in the sense that it really isn't "in" anymore. But I still like the shit.

Metal is good. I like it. You all are stupid for arguing. Listen to good music and be happy (rap and pop sucks though!).
