The anachranox ending wasn't that bad Marcus... it's like saying don't watch the Super Mario Bros movie because it ends with the start of a sequel

Yeah but the SMB movie was terrible as far as plot went anyway.   Anachronox is actually pretty good and then builds up to something that will never finish :(

is fallout 2 anything like fallout 3? i played fallout 3 and it turned out to just be oblivion with guns (good thing) so if fallout 2 is like that then i got A FORM OF OBLIVION THAT CAN RUN ON MY COMP XD

i'm gonna try getting oblivion with that patch someone mentioned, and if it works on my comp then it should work on yours, we pretty much got the same specs.

Fallout 2 is isometric, and of course theres alot of bugs.

I reccomend you get an emulator, download some roms and play. Preferably Emerald Dragon ( not much button pressing) since it is finally translated.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

no i wasn't kidding. i seriously think it's amazing, but not because the game is any good. but it's also really pointless to bring it up in this topic because it has nothing to do with rpgs. why would you suggest it at all or even mention it. this guy wants rpgs. role playing gams. limbo of the lost isn't a role playing gam ok.

Adventure Games and RPGs (gaming wise) goes hand in hand, regardless they both follow a very simple thing. They stick you in a role, and you play as that role. Really RPGs are just Adventure games with random battles/any turn based fighting.

No.

The best way to define RPG video-game genre is numbers. RPGs are all about the numbers.

I second nox, for a diablo clone it sure has a lot of personality and creativity. But it is pretty short :(

Yeah, it was sort of short...  BUT it's pretty replayable I'd say. (considering the first chapters of each class are completely different (and there are plenty of differences later also)). :]

i wrote my college thesis on rpg's brah.  there are three things common in all role playing games

1. you control, to some degree, the growth of your character
2. rely indirectly on the character's skill to succeed in challenges, not the player's skill
3. percentages or rolls are used to simulate random chance

zelda, for example, isn't an rpg because you're in control of link's actions.  your success at beating the game is determined by your skill as a player.  diablo is an rpg because even though you directly control the character, their success is primarily determined by their personal skills.
