AAAAAH MY DICK IS RAW

The studio behind Contra 4 is remaking the classic adventure game A Boy and His Blob which is not only one of the harder sidescrolling puzzle games I've ever played but it was also nominated by some parent organization in the 80s for "best game for kids" or something.  It was hard, it was fucking frustrating, but I played it for months until I beat it.

Now... now this...

Wow, that looks really nice! It looks far better than the earlier A Boy and His Blob game that was going to be made for the DS but got cancelled.

Ugh, I hate A Boy and His Blob.  Oops, I fed him the bean that makes him turn into a hole and now I have to fall to my death.

This is my all time favorite NES game and it's the only ROM I have on my computer. I really hope they fix the names of the beans though because in order to play it I have to have a bean reference guide open at all times.

I always kept feeding him the bean that made me fly many screens away leaving me completely lost and confused.  That's usually where I gave up.

there was a stupid mnemonic to the beans (ketchup = catch up, licorice = ladder, honey = humming bird) but yeah, a short description or something would be nice.  It's also cool they're adding enemies to the game and you can transform your blob into a killing machine because the original game could be beaten in five minutes by turning into a rocketship and pretty much flying to the last area.

Even if it just kept a log of what they do as you discover them it would be helpful, every time I tried it I kept wasting them because I wasn't writing them down and so I kept forgetting them.

If it just has a thing in the menu that keeps track of what they do even after you use them, that would be nicer than nothing.

This game adds to my reason of buying a wii. That console is reaching critical mass of Games I Want To Play.

It looks like you won't have to remember what each jelly bean does anymore.  The game tells you while choosing it.

Wow, looks really nice and the animation is pretty smooth too, kind of like Wario Land Shake It in looking like a cartoon.

About time somebody came out with a current-gen 2-dimensional game like this.  Awesome animation AND soundtrack, plus some interesting gameplay.  Maybe I should check the NES game out.

it looks pretty tedious in that the blob seems to be always dragging behind and trying to position it on a right spot took like way too long considering how easy it could be. Maybe the player just sucks tho.

Does the atmosphere of this remind anyone of Legend of Mana?  I always liked that, but hopefully the gameplay is better.

Also, does this game not use sound effects?

yeah its pretty said that people keep ignoring that fact. Marcus you ACTUALLY BEAT IT? That game was soooo hard. I had no idea wtf to do. there were some parts that seemed just impossible. That game was definitely the epitome of trial and error. hmm. where do I put this hole? here? *fall to death*. Here? *fall to death*. Here? Fall to safe platform below. Oh monster! *death* if you aren't lying...i shake your hand.

you can beat the game in 10 minutes by exploiting the rocketship.  i don't remember what the treasures did, but yes the game was pure trial and error.

Trial and error games are only fun with savestates.

I like trial and error in games but not if it means replaying huge portions of the game.
