Think people, either flame me and get this topic locked or go on with your lives and just forget I said that to dodge another lock.
*predicts that people will keep flaming me anyway*

Let me finish this: Ocelot, think before you type. And always verify what you type in a post with Wikipedia, if need be. Checking quick things take a couple of seconds thanks to Wiki.

If this was posted before, my apologies, I did a quick search and didn't pull up anything so maybe my searching skills suck.  Anyway, yeah I think the majority of GTA IV's environments are in this game, can't remember which area they cut out though, but still, that's going to make for a pretty huge city to explore.
Probably Alderney was the place cut out (since it was New Jersey rather than New York City)

Okay, BACK TO ADVENTURE... or something.

Anyway, didn't know this would be in since there is apparently no online multi as far as I know but you can still chat with people also playing the game I guess to talk about what you're doing during play.  Guess it would make sense if you're trying to key them into something you found somewhere in the city.

As far as what we did want to do with the touch screen, we decided to use it only where it made sense creatively, but never did we do something just for the sake of doing it because the DS had the capability. The wireless PDA certainly speaks to that. For the whole of the game, players will be using this device to interact with nearly everything going on in the gameworld. E-mails, chatting with friends connected online, plotting points on the GPS, and more--this is the main hub of communication for all things in Chinatown Wars.

Interview here (most recent I've found) has quite a bit of info both on the game and the nature of its development:

That is all well and good, but it is kind of odd that they would make an online chat room for GTA without actual online play. I mean I wouldn't expect anything spectacular, but they could definitely do something with online play like deathmatch or shit like that.

@ Liquid Ocelot

If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if the initial confusion for online multiplayer stemmed from the misinterpretation of in game stuff like that.  But yeah, online multiplayer would have been pretty nice otherwise.

what's with you? we all know kezay likes nintendo and blah blah but it's a completely fine topic and it's okay to discuss games here, it's what the forum is for. no need to derail the topic any further.

I honestly don't care if it has multiplayer or not, I am just saying that with a feature like a Chatroom, one would think some kind of online play could have been implemented. Oh well, I don't really play online with my DS anyway. Only DS game I play online on occasion Call of Duty: World at War(which is surprisingly good, beats the shit out of metroid prime hunters that is for sure).

I had no idea WaW on DS was online.  I tried out Modern Warfare for it which turned out pretty good so if it's pretty much building on top of that and n-Space is still behind it, then all is well I suppose.  But I guess having the chat room gives you something to do during missions or something.  Maybe it's their version of having something of a real "in game" cellphone... unless it's text based... wait, I think that still works out. :P

That is not a SMALL MISTAKE. That's like mixing up Russia and Germany!
You mean they arnt the same thing?

I don’t play the DS but this game looks decent and the extra features like hot wiring cars and assembling sniper rifles look like a nice addition, I actually hope they add these in the next PS3 GTA.

PS3 doesn't have a touch screen.

True, but surely they can come up with a way to include these new features.. they would make a nice addition.
