I went to school at the same place the crew did, paul hall center.

I can't find any better clips but what happened was the USS alabama, a maersk ship (the company I worked for which is the same company that runs the tago class ships one of which the op is about) Was hijacked off the coast of Somalia. After a fight the captain gave himself up for the crew (I really didn't see that coming because most of the captains I've met were cowards) and was taken off the ship.

After spending a few nights in a lifeboat with the Somalian pirates (he tried to get away but they shot at him) he was rescued by a navy seals detachment of which killed two of the pirates and took the last one into custody.

What they don't mention is that the SIU crews those maersk ships in Norfolk, so I could know some of the crew. But I don't know who was onboard yet. Thats pretty crazy though, I'm really glad that they got the captain back I was almost certain he was done for.

That's pretty amazing of the captain to have given himself up for the crew. I didn't think there were people like that now-a-days.
