yeah that's exactly it! i thought they were like converse 2.0s. converse definitely sells shoes that look just like rocket dogs.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

ahaha were you that guy who wore his jacket all the time?  in the spring, in class, everywhere.  were you jacketguy.  thats not as bad as trenchcoat guy but thats probably the worst you could be, to be fair.  imagine being defined by your coat.  this guy walked into my english class wearing a fucking trenchcoat in september and i almost laughed but didnt.  the last time i saw him he was in 9th grade and i was in 12th and he was reading a pamphlet about mobile gundam g or whatever the fuck.  time....*smirks* time makes fools of us all

also those shoes are awful.  do you wear them when you go yachting or just around the beach house

if you can't find anywhere to park just go park in a hospital parking lot and either sleep in the van or go sleep in the waiting room. pretend you have family there.

this thread is very informative to me because this may very well be my future.
if it ever comes to that i'll put u up bud, u just gotta find your own way to the west coast

maybe for like a month or two but then i just said fuck it and never wore the jacket again. i don't think i was JACKET GUY at least i seriously hope not!! there are people here with definite reps related to clothing like NIGHT ELF GIRL who does cosplay at least twice a week and GUY WHO DRESSES LIKE A PIRATE and PERPETUALLY SHIRTLESS DUDE and DUDE WHO DRESSES LIKE SEINFELD so i think i dodged the bullet there.

also those shoes aren't that bad. what is wrong with those? it's an ugly color yeah but mine are brown so it looks a lot less ELDERLY FLORIDIAN. i used to wear DCs/vans but i decided they were really ugly and i've always hated nikes. i try to wear sandals though but a dog pooped on my only nice pair and the stain won't come out, and i am too grossed out to wear them anymore but too cheap to buy another $40 pair of sandals

DUDE WHO DRESSES LIKE SEINFELD

he dresses exactly like seinfeld does in that picture too and every time i see him i kind of have to hold back a snort. tight khakis, oversized unfitted buttondown shirt with ugly colors/pattern, and huge hightops and big hair. i feel bad for the dude

youre in an awkward place for shoes.  i, too, once wore dcs/vans/other shit but moved away from that.  i dont like trainers either tho so idk.  my main shoe NOW is a pair of dvs actually but theyre quite nice as skating shoes go; they dont look like most others.  i'd wear adidas if i were you.  those look like boating shoes and the croc doesnt help

ahahaha i thought you meant SNEANS in the loose sense.  what college kid would wear a shirt like that jesus

I don't know! the worst part is the khakis mixed with the big hightop sneakers. every time i've seen him since afura's thread i just keep on thinking SNEANS SNEANS SNEANS. fortunately i am 300 miles away from campus.

pirate guy is worse though

EDIT: those aren't the ACTUAL SHOES btw i just said they look kind of like them. rocket dogs is probably the closest to what they are except they are american eagle. i will look at adidas too though since i need new shoes, but they are always expensive and i have a pathological aversion to paying more than 40 bucks for sneakers

no it has nothing to do with the movies. he just likes dressin like a pirate. nothin wrong with that.

like do you remember rpg advocate's photos? he dresses like that except with a pirate cap and sometimes an eyepatch and a vest. i think he has like 3 copies of the same outfit. he does it maybe 2/3rds of the time though maybe i've just seen him on bad days (IE dressin like a scurvy sea dog days).

seriously though i'm more surprised you latched onto PIRATE GUY which isn't THAT weird (I bet you could find pirate guy at any university) instead of GIRL WHO DRESSES AS NIGHT ELF SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK which still makes me uncomfortable

actually i think nearly everyone on our campus dresses goofy. it's a bunch of nerds and hipsters and hippies! my roommate was a big lanky indian dude and he had a bright blue blazer jacket he got from goodwill that he wore everywhere for like half a year. it was the ugliest thing imaginable but he thought it was awesome.

i mean, i played wow.  i played with people who did this.  COSPLAYING is nothing new to me, although when you said cosplay it made me think she did it for reasons and not just to RUN TO  THE STORE.  thats weird too but i find pirate more interesting because ive never known anyone to do it and people dress like night elves all the time

also how small is your campus that you even know all these people.

I think we have maybe around 800 students? a lot of them are upperclassmen you never see because they're not as interested in campus social life anymore, but i'd like to think that i know almost every well known person on campus.

I don't know how you didn't have a pirate guy at your school though! i thought that was at least as common as EVERYDAY COSPLAY GIRL. my high school had a guy who unintentionally dressed like a pirate too.

this is a pretty damn eclectic thread.

i used to wear those canvas vans almost exclusively, but now i feel outgrown of them.  now i wear mainly some pumas.

you really gotta post some pics of this pirate guy or cosplay girl (or someone similar), i cant fathom that someone would regularly dress like that.  my campus is pretty fuckin big compared to yours, if your student pop. is really 800.  we're pretty bland as far as college clothing.  the majority is like khaki shorts with sandals, and polo shirt.  you also get your typical goth bondage wear and hippy shit, but not too much.  only thing that even slightly struck me was long black socks with strap sandals, mainly with the athletic crowd.  i dunno if that's common or unique to my area.
keep posting...

my high school was 400 students

i dunno, i sometimes feel like i'm missing out on the COLLEGE EXPERIENCE, but all of my classes are small and i know my professors fairly well and knowing everyone has its benefits. most people are friendly and it's still large enough to generally avoid people you seriously dislike, and it's a study hard party hard school which is a lot of fun most of the time. campus is small and easy to navigate. the dorms are fantastic too and are much better than any other oncampus housing in the state. i didn't know what i was getting into but i think i'm glad i came to this school because i think i would have turned into much more of a generic BRO if it wasn't such a unique environment with friendly people

End of the day, if you live in a van you'll have some quality stories to tell your kids.

(And to follow the new route this is taken. I got some converse rip offs for £15 yesterday. Was a sweet deal for me).

when I was a freshman, there was an infamous kid dubbed "UnderArmour Man" or "No-Sleeves". He wore underarmour every day and even in the middle of the fucking winter when it was like 10Fhe would be walking around sleeveless. He was one of those guys you could tell went to the gym every single day for a few hours,

Two and 1/2 years later he ends up being my RA who lives in the room directly across from me. He is still NoSleeves. Some people even wrote a song about him.  The majority of it is embarassing white boy rap, but some of the lines are pretty clever and the beat isn't bad.
