Pretend that you are preparing a television documentary about the Civil Rights movement during the 1950s and 1960s.  What three events would you make sure to include?  Which people would you want to be sure to interview (assuming they were still alive) or discuss?  Explain your choices.

this is the discussion board topic for my history class. i thought it was an interesting question to post here!

if it's for television focus on naked demonstrations. if you're not concerned with a grade i would look into marketing changes that pre-empted the movements or allowed for the change rather than picking a few key figures. write about how the civil rights movement and liberalism made everyone worse off, they won't be expecting that.

yeah let's just ignore the proliferation of smoking at the same time and the effects of the second world war on industry. maybe after america freed the jews they discovered human life was inherently valuable.

except there's s till a strong discourse of freedom (of the market) worth fighting for

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

what about sojourner truth. she's pretty interesting and she's not obscure or anything. i'd interview that activist. i'd interview her twice.
