Although it's hosted on a Portuguese RPG Maker site, the game is in English.

Tales of a Fantasy World

Thanks a bunch!

Does anyone have Tales of a Fantasy World for rm2k in English?  Horrible horrible game, but I really wanted to relive it in English.  Gamingw used to have it, but the only link I can find now is in Spanish or Portuguese.

And there's also a game that I've been trying to find but I remember very little about it.  The only part I really remember is an extended section where the hero arrives at this gated community type of place and the normal rpg kind of turns into a dating-sim for awhile.  Actually reminded me a little of The Village, and I do believe it was a fairly popular game.  If anyone knows what that is / has it, I'd appreciate it.

I hated Final Fantasy XII.  Easily my least favorite of the series.

I'm kinda playing Pokemon Silver on and off right now.

I had (idk where it went) Robopon for the GBC.  It had that cool infrared thing where you could get items from pointing remotes and shit at the cartridge but I never got it to work.

Yeah I like a lot of the ideas they had.  Some of my friends and I got six sealed copies from Amazon (and six new save batteries) and made a night of it.  It's pretty fun, but pretty needlessly complicated.  It was no doubt trying to one-up Pokemon.  All the gimmicks and stupid robot ideas (a toilet robopon, a butt robopon, etc) make it really funny to play and sort of jab at.

Insidious.

Overall it's a pretty average movie.  The story is a little farfetched and there are a couple unnecessary characters.  Patrick Wilson and the leading girl did pretty well but overall the acting is average.  But man, it sets a scary atmosphere.  It pretty carefully walks the line of over-the-top and deliciously creepy.  I felt like there were only a couple things that didn't really work (the demon being the main thing) but some of it is absolutely chilling and the whole movie is very tense.

It probably helped that I watched it at 10 PM with all the lights off and my headphones on.

This looks beyond amazing.  I really appreciate the painstaking attention to detail, particularly the animation.  I hope you see it through because I would gladly play a full-scale remake.  Kudos to you and your amazing ambition and work ethic!

X-Men: First Class.  It sucked.

It was pretty hilarious though.  Other than the acting (McAvoy, Fassbender, and Bacon [to ][/to] were all great), it was a godawful movie.  I got some chuckles though; especially seeing how bad Beast looked.  I kept waiting for him to start howling and playing basketball.

My friends and I would laugh every single time it started playing the ominous music behind Erik and Raven's speechifying.  "If I were you, I wouldn't change a thing."  DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN.  Man, he's so evil.

What a crappy movie.  I'm genuinely shocked that it's getting such praise.

It's like the movie was both too much and too little at the same time.  It was too much in the sense that they threw everything at the wall; all kinds of characters, powers, motivations, war plots, etc.  But so little of it stuck, and what it ended up seeming like was a veritable checklist:  we have to make sure we explain Cerebro, we have to explain why Raven goes with Erik, why Xavier's in a wheelchair, why Erik has the helmet, etc.  None of it seemed necessary, and some of the mutants they chose were, quite frankly, ridiculous.  I guess it was mostly Darwin and Angel that I had a beef with, but Azazel was stupid too (but then again, if Nightcrawler wasn't so well known, I'd probably think he was dumb as well).

For the most part, the actors were good enough to carry it, but the script was pretty awful.  The story moved far too fast; the movie never really felt like a movie.  It was pretty much montage climax montage climax montage.  I wouldn't say you get to know any character very well at all, certainly not enough to like ANY of them except perhaps Xavier, and I'd still say 95% of that was due to McAvoy's fantastic acting.  Patrick Stewart should be proud.

Everything was rushed; same problem with X-Men: The Last Stand.  I'd say this is barely better.  A two star movie at the absolute most.

I saw it too at the midnight release at the local drive-in.  Well, sort of.  I fell asleep around when Penelope Cruz showed up.  First half hour was okay though.

Sonic Adventure 2 is far far better than the first.

My friend has a Dreamcast and four of us played a 3 hour game of Sonic Shuffle a couple weeks back.  It was pretty painful.

watched david lynch's twin peaks movie Fire Walk with Me even though i have only seen the pilot episode of the show and only have a peripheral understanding of how the show worked(see: i skimmed some article some dude wrote comparing the similarities between deadly premonition and twin peaks)

kinda dumb movie, even by david lynch standards, but i guess it's kinda vaguely worth seeing since david lynch is obviously not a citizen of this planet and/or has some sort of serious undiagnosed brain tumor. i guess i enjoyed it despite how broken of a movie it was, but it wasn't a particularly rewarding experience. it was overwhelmingly clear that they were anticipating the movie to be SMASH HIT and allow them to make sequels to it, which probably would have worked since some of the minor storylines going through the movie were a lot more interesting.

in summation, gordon cole is the best character in film history and i could easily spend five hours watching him scream at people

Thanks for this, now I can mentally prepare myself.  I just watched the pilot and liked it so I was gonna go ahead and watch the series and then the movie.  Maybe I can see it with an open mind knowing that it's going to be super-Lynchian.

I ordered Bruce Campbell's autobiography a couple of days ago so when that gets here, I'm gonna plow into that.  That's about as far as my recreational reading goes.

I clocked in about 60 hours on the game, convinced that I was going to try and do some breeding and EV training.  Then I gave up.  Easily the best Pokemon game since G/S/C but I still vastly prefer the old gameboy ones simply for nostalgia and simplicity's sake.

Last movie I saw at the theaters was Scream 4, and I loved it.  Honestly it's nothing too special but the original is a favorite of mine and the nostalgia of seeing all the characters again is really nice.  Outside of that it has a nice mystery and it's a lot of fun.

The last movie I've seen was the 80s remake of The Fly.  I liked it a lot, haven't seen much by Cronenburg except Videodrome, eXistenZ, and now this.  It's easily the best of the three, and it builds tension very well.  Pretty much a downer, though.

I've been in a gaming mood lately.  I just rebought FFXIII (after the first copy completely bricked my old PS3; praying my new slim PS3 doesn't suffer the same fate) and downloaded Castle Crashers and the Scott Pilgrim game.
