There is actually a Mega Man X fangame being developed that I'm following called "Mega Man X: Corrupted," (link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIMyDCAhpQw&feature=related) I think it looks pretty cool.

Mr. Werid Guy: That last video's speed is perfect! Keep it there (I do like how Mega Man commits suicide after he wins the fight)!

Tomorrow then!

I remember seeing some of these shots from my daily browsing at GW, and I must say that this project is looking good! So good, that this game may be better than MM10 in almost everyway (nah, I didn't hate MM10 that much, but I still like MM9 better).

Anyways, the only problem I have is similar to what Supra Mairo said about the speed: it is way too fast!!! I'm not saying you should get rid of that feature, but maybe keep it in for a "Turbo" mode sort of thing. Also, if you can find some "Other" music besides using just MM10, that would be great too! There are tons of 8-bit songs out there! Anyways, just throwing things out.

(Why not call this Mega Man 11 or 12? +1 just sounds...stupid.)   :hmm:

*sigh* never mind about me saying that "No matter what engine you use to make a game, people will still enjoy / play them;" I forgot where I am again: the internets.  :fogethuh:

Still, use whatever you fancy...um...just don't use gamezmakers 9000.

Unless you can find a sure-fire way to get everyone who has ever made a game to see this topic and reply to it, you are pretty much screwed when it comes to answering the very question you pose. Of course that's only if you aren't willing to accept completely arbitrarily defined answers based on the whims of the subset of people who do end up replying to your post.

I made a game! I'll post!

Rm2k3 and Rm2k used to be the standard among us game making wannabes back a few years ago, but in the last little while...RmXP and RmVx have made a complete 360. More people now use VX and XP now than ever before, and why not? It is defiantly better then the lesser models. Still, a lot of people still use rm2k3 (likes yours truly), even though we should could switch anytime we want, we like the simple standards that rm2k3 inforces, and since a lot of us just want to jump into something right away, rm2k3 will always be my choice.

But hey, Gamemaker, Ika, Sphere, C++, Flash, Java...they are all great choices! The best thing about these Indie Gaming sites is that no matter what game you make in whatever program, people will still play it, and that is why I love these places. So, the choice is up to you! Try a couple of makers and see which one you fancy. All I can say is Rm2k3 is still great for people who just want to make a game with very little knowledge of coding, just to "Do" something quickly to just show off.

Speaking of Flash and C++, I will be learning this stuff in school in the next year or so, so once I do get a firm grasp of the basics, I attend to ditch Rpg Maker and start making more advanced games. Okay, maybe I won’t QUITE throw Rm2k3 away (I still might be tempted to do a quick freeware game at times), but you get my drift.

So pick a maker; make us some semper games; and just have fun! ^^

(Back to my homework, ugh)

(Let's try and see if we can make this entire thread without using the words "Hate," "Monopolo," or "Gaying."  :welp: )

Yeah, sorry that I haven't been around too much guys, college life is getting a bit extreme lately, what with the projects and final exams coming up, I just haven't had anytime to surf the web, or even work on my games.

That being said, I'm actually happy that I'm spending 8 hours a day working on these things; it is quite fun to do something different and having in the back of your mind that by completing school, I'm almost guranteed a better job, making $70,000 - 100,000 a year, instead of $10,000 and talking to idiots all-day (Union Be Western?  :shocking: )

So, I hope everyone is doing alright here. Just thought I would post something to show that I'm still around, and hopefully in April I'll get back to work on my Indie Games, considering I'll be working the entire summer before the next semster.

Oh well, heaven can wait.

(NOTE: Looks like that Monopolo (aw...shit, I said it  :fogetbackflip:) won't be done in time for its birthday, but school is more important right now, so maybe May 2nd or June 2nd; Sugar should be done either before summer, or around that time, and The Aquatic Adventures Of Scuba Steve is still for next year.)   :woop:

I know that FF13 just came out today, but I think I'm going to pass until my semster is done (also to see what the reviewers are saying, because---jeez, I haven't played a good FF since IX, and I'm a bit worried about wtf is Squares-Enix is doing!)

But until then, I have Mega Man 10, Final Fantasy IV can cheer me up as well, oh! And my own projects need some playing / work too! It is a good day to be alive.  :welp:

I decided to give this a shot, just to not let some good work go bye without comment---and it is not too bad. Everything is pretty close to the orginal with some minor quips, such as the walking speed; awarked attack anaimation, strange HUD choice, no way to use other items like the bow...but it is a demo, and I don't think you had time to finish all of that yet.

Overall, it was pretty good. But I can what you meant by "It was doomed at the start," because in someways, you were right. I'm pretty sure it would have turned out pretty good, but a lot of people would have gone like, "Er...why play this when I can just play the NES version?"

But good work Confaisus! Too bad you had to drop this, but I think it was for the best.

(How come you didn't have enemies drop things like hearts, rupees, instead of just having text display "Heart?" That seemed a bit strange to me...oh well!)

I wouldn't mind a 3D FF7 remake, but what I would like is for FF15 to maybe go back to a classic approach, like what Sonic and Mega Man have been doing lately.

Or, how about both?

Probably, this is the end my friend.

GO CANUCKS GO TONIGHT! Andrew Alberts first game as a Nuck, and those Blackhawk reporters who thought that the Nucks were deadline losers are going down tonight!

On a lighter note, I just played Mega Man 10, and it is awesome like always. Now, I have to work on my homework.  :shocking:

As the master of menu's (gets rocks thrown at him), I'm surprised you haven't been questioned about possible gamer plays.

Anyway, the menu system looks great, and like what everyone else listed before, I like the little touch-on's like the info pop-up's that go into detail about what your doing. My only problems is that this menu isn't very orginial since it borrows heavily on FF9--but who cares right!? Also, I think the status menu should be placed a little bit down and have items move into the #1 slot, espcially if your going for a FF9 style clone, and usually the first thing I do is reach into the items / magic when I come to the menu. The only other problem I have is that you have some RM2K3 default message boxes littered around, and it just makes it look like a bit dumb. Other than that, it is a great menu, and I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeves!
