By attacking me and my life personally, you both just showed your maturity levels. Way to go, mods.

Saying "lol hey spics/injuns/wops/niggers are in this movie" isn't funny and doesn't really tell what he thought of the movie...but if you boil it down and say the movie was stereotypical of India like you did, and you didn't like it because of that, then you are coming from somewhere.

8. Definitely, Maybe (don't ask)
I liked it a lot too! Definitely better than the dime-a-dozen romantic comedies you see popping in theaters all the time.

Now that 2008 and the Oscars have passed, what were your ten favorite movies of 2008 (with honorable mentions) and what were the greatest disappointments to you? Please don't start arguments, there is no right or wrong answer and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Also, try to give a brief description of why you put the movie on your list so you aren't just name-dropping.

My 2008 top 10:

1. Slumdog Millionaire
-I can't think of one thing I didn't like about Slumdog Millionaire...it will definitely go down as a classic in time.

2. WALL-E
-Should have been nominated for best picture...my favorite Pixar movie.

3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
-A lot like Forrest Gump, but I love that movie and Benjamin was excellent too.

4. Doubt
-Brilliant acting by everybody, especially Viola Davis and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

5. In Bruges
-I am surprised it didn't win best screenplay...I thought it was a very funny and smart film.

6. The Visitor
-A very touching story, great directing, and perfect acting by Richard Jenkins.

7. Iron Man
-The rare superhero movie that has a good story to it.

8. Tropic Thunder
-Exceeded my expectations...I thought I would hate it, but I really enjoyed it. Robert Downey Jr.'s performance was hilarious.

9. Get Smart
-Okay, it wasn't an Academy Award-worthy movie, but I couldn't stop smiling while watching it.

10. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
-The only Judd Apatow production I really enjoyed...it ran a little too long, but it made me laugh a lot.

Honorable mention: The Dark Knight. Although I thought it was mildly entertaining, I find it very overrated and liked Batman Begins much better. There is no denying that Heath Ledger's performance was incredible, though.

Movies that disappointed me were Cloverfield and the new James Bond, while the worst movies I saw last year were Wanted, Indiana Jones 4, and Righteous Kill.

Try Opeth's album "Damnation" and then work your way up to the death-vocals and go to "Blackwater Park."

Your old girlfriend sounds like she doesn't respect you at all (or herself, for that matter.) Don't make the situation worse, just make a clean break. This new girl you met sounds more respectful and fun, and it seems like you have a lot in common.

Good luck, man! :)

With each listen, Insurgentes grows on me more...tracks that I dismissed before have started to shed their brilliance and open up more.

Favorites: Harmony Korine, Abandoner, Salvaging, No Twilight Within The Courts Of The Sun, Significant Other, Collecting Space
Very good: Port Rubicon, Insurgentes, Insurgentes/Mexico, Untitled
Good, not great: Venema Para Las Hadas, Only Child, Twilight Coda
Meh: Get All You Deserve, Puncture Wound

Saw it in Germany a few weeks ago...disappointed in it, especially since Casino Royale rocked. It was okay, but the tower of action scenes ruined it. The whole "argh I want revenge!" storyline also annoyed the hell out of me. I'd give it a 5/10 and hope for something like Casino Royale next time.

Not very well known, but a really nice and safe place to live.
