Looks like a nightmare version of Dino Crisis.
The animation is genuinely exhausting to watch

For those interested, the entirety of GW Troubs has been tagged now, so you can dump it in your music library and they'll actually be listed together: https://archive.org/details/GWTroubadoursArchive
This is all 22 albums plus a bunch of extras.

This is a really cool throwback. Thanks man.

Hipster oldbies only, yes? Maybe I should find another forum then > :(

edit:

for the sake of the music composers on this board, I just wanna say I actually ended up writing quite a few tracks for Keeping up with the Kardashians. like 5-7 or something? pay was decent but way too unpredictable if you'd get stuff there

That's extremely cool man, congrats and well deserved.

I did a couple of corporate ad rap things and didn't like it very much so basically just make music for myself now when I feel like it and am much happier.

Sometimes when I'm in a weird mood (usually some cross between nostalgic and melancholic), I find myself here and just kinda soak it all in. There's something almost comforting about being here. I don't usually log in but something came over me tonight.

Same. My job is cool but kinda stressful and I get the urge to come here once a year or so for the vibe. and the Russian sneaker spam obviously

That art style is somewhere between cool and deeply unsettling.

one of these days i'm gonna idly log back in here and find it alive, but it's entirely bots talking to each other about sneaker deals back and forth forever

that's the dream

So, where did everyone end up in life? Are any GWers now fathers, husbands, or forever aloners? I think most of us are either in our mid or late 20s now. What kind of jobs have people landed? We need updates.

As for me, I'm managing a pharmacy now. I've been a pharmacist since 2010. Moved to New Brunswick for one year in 2011 and then moved back to Nova Scotia. No significant other. Always thought I'd be married by 28, but I'm 27 now and that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon. I've almost accepted that I'm going to be alone the rest of my life. Certainly not against the idea of a wife and kids but if it never happens I guess I can live with that. I've always been a solitary kind of dude anyway who never really socialized much out in the real world. But I do have two great cats and finally managed to grow a decent beard; can't complain about that! Gotta look on the bright side of life.

I'm soon to be a husband I guess. I should be more excited but my girlfriend and I have been together so long it seemed a formality (that probably sounds bad but we've basically just been hanging for 8 years and it has been fantastic).

Be happy you've got a career though, my degree didn't lead to anything and I'm a wine guy for a liquor chain down here. Still making music on the side. Do a lot of video/audio editing for fun. Cats are fantastic and I couldn't help but adopt one when I found one I loved, he's an old black bastard who is the grumpiest thing and I love it (because he's my feline self). I do some acting and play sports and blah blah but nothing really interesting - despite the general tone of a lot of the topic (silly or morose) I was keen to see how people were going.

A mate of mine has become a pharmacist and loves the challenge. It's something I would have pursued personally if not for grades guiding me another way, I always enjoyed the theory. Fingers crossed you find someone, I mean that with sincerity despite the internet being a great filter for anything like that.

Local_dunce's post above is also fantastic and I'm glad he made it because it honestly made me feel better along with being far better worded than anything I'd be offered. I hope the advice was heeded.

From the GW/SW posters I still talk to it seems like everyone is moving along pretty well which is great.

I feel like every time I come here there's a Troubs album trying to get off the ground. If anyone has a beat or a piece of music or anything they want to hear rapadap over I'm up for it for nostalgia's sake.

Are there actually places like GW classic around? like people earnestly wanting to make 200 hour RPGs in RPGmaker with fully symphonic scores and voiced dialogue and epic stories and then getting 2 screens into it while people beg for updates

I don't know if I just go on irc at the wrong times, but over the last few years or so I haven't really had the time to get on irc, and whenever I do, there is never anyone talking anyways, or they don't want to talk about anything other than animes or dumb k-pop

I go on IRC at weird hours, it's usually the UK/NZ/Aus members and maybe some US people too I dunno?

There's good chats sometimes, it's a good place to ramble endlessly (which I am good at).

Yeah, Atari is getting at what I was. Sorry if I came off as a bit of a dick Big T, I honestly don't watch many of these and I made it through a fair chunk of your ones so you've obviously above average. I think it just needs to be more fast paced and have banter outside of exactly WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE SCREEN RIGHT NOW to be interesting. You have a cool voice like I said and I think there's potential.

Also, with these RPGM games, have you considered getting a friend in to do it with you and having a few beers? That kind of thing, the back and forth especially can really make these things worthwhile.

I'll check out your Destiny's Call one in a little bit once I've done some stuff, I might do a bit of critique in a separate post (sorry mods double postin like a mofo fkn sue me).

This is cool! Your voice has gotten stronger since I last heard you.

Maybe just tone down on the reverb a liiiiittle bit, it works well when you're singing with the drums but it's a little much with just the guitar imo. A couple of your adlibs are a tiny bit off too.

I like it quite a bit though, it really picks up as it goes on and gets good.

Your accent is cool and all but you need to not read the dialogue out loud/constantly fill space with constant drawn out words/umming and ahhing, it's really frustrating to watch.

I spose if you're playing for the first time and it's an RPG Maker it's tough to fill in time with interesting trivia and gameplay mechanics and all that.

Your Sleeping Dogs one is much better than Beta/Phantasy, maybe the RPG Maker thing just doesn't work for you. I like the idea behind playing RPG Maker games but you need to rejig how you do it, it's kind of annoying as it is.

Sorry to be a downer, there's potential but some stuff is annoying to watch currently!

I've never been a big fan of the offals(?) or obscure animal bits in cooking, granted I've only tried chitterlings (pig intestine). A borscht is a hearty soup right? I'd have to try it before I judged it. I'm going to attempt coq au vin soon (chicken congealed in red wine). A lot of French dishes rely on this congealing process, and it returns some unique effects.
What do you mean by congealed? That's a pretty gross way to describe coq au vin. It's just a simple stew... some braising... I guess adding a roux to sauce is sort of congealing, but it's not solid enough for that to seem applicable. Oh whoa, blood is sometimes used as the thickener? That's kind of cool.

Made chicken tagine earlier this week. It was sort of a loose recipe, and stew's not beautiful, but it's good. It's not terribly comforting--it's a little too citrusy/sour? for that--but it's warming and filling.

bonzi sheepishly looks up from the large vats of stewing animal meats that fill his living room. "want a borscht??" his landlady is unamused. the smells will never come out.
I think he's got blood on the brain talking about congealing. I'm assuming Evangel means reducing - the red wine reduction sauce for the coq au vin etc

But yeah, blood can be a thickener as it does congeal, but it needs fat to do so (which often isn't too hard when you're cooking).

I'm guessing you haven't had a full English/Scottish/Irish breakfast before? Black pudding/blood sausage/whatever is just blood that congeals when it's cooled after using a thickener (usually fat or oats). It's actually really nice seasoned. I'm not the biggest offal fan bar in pho, but I do like the "don't waste anything" kind of mindset.

'chicken tagine' usually is just a basic Mediterranean stew cooked in a tagine and it usually has lemons/lemon zest/olives in it, so if you're looking for something warming and comfy it's probably not the best thing to go with - although citrusy things, mostly soups, can be incredibly good for that if done correctly.

I've been working on a recipe for a pretty decent (and easy) Moroccan lamb/chickpea tagine which is very hearty and more on the tomato side in terms of acid, I can write it up for you if you're interested. I've heard lamb can be not too easy to get in America but you can easily substitute it with beef (chuck steak would work fine).

The best lizard is the bearded dragon UGH

They're excellent beginners lizards but require more room than, say, a leopard gecko.  But god they are the best.

Man I want a bearded dragon so bad, they own. Need a license though and tbh I probably need a bigger place first.

I adopted an 11 year old cat from the local RSPCA (animal shelter) and he is really cool. Always wanted a black cat and he's still got a heap of energy, but is p snuggly and friendly too.

I do sports games stuff for a website so I'm playing NBA2k13 a lot (but I always am). I'm also playing International Cricket 2010 again to write about how they can make it better for this years iteration (hint it's in every way).

Still catching up with old PS3 games that people say I should play mostly. Nearly finished Red Dead Redemption, really liking it. Playing Mass Effect 2 as well, not a fan, feels really 'light' and a bit silly to be honest. Maybe I shouldn't be playing it so many years later!

Speaking of which, are there any must play old PS3 games that I might have missed? I.e not GTAIV or Uncharted or whatever, something a bit less obvious.

It is pretty cool! It'd work really well for the right little game I reckon.

Arranging does lead to a more 'clean' sound generally I find but you've still got the glitch angle fairly well covered, it doesn't hinder it at all.

Like Ragnar said, good first effort, keep at it

I was in the mood for some Indian tonight, but I didn't want to do the standard daal or madras or whatever so I decided I'd give a biryani a crack.

It came out pretty much perfectly, which I was happy about as I'd burnt myself a couple of times and I completely underestimated how long it'd take to make (nothing like dinner at 10:30pm ya deeg). Served it with cucumber and mint raita as the whole dish is pretty mint/saffron oriented, worked really nicely on the side.

Tbh you probably don't even need meat (like most Indian dishes really, I used lamb in this one), it has so much flavour regardless.

Crappy phone pic of it on the plate:

Evangel, is there anything special about Stubbs BBQ sauce? I'm in Aus so it'd be annoying to track down that brand, but I'm hankering for some ribs now. Also are those pork or beef?

And don't worry about the liquid smoke haters, I reckon a little of it is fine if you can't do the real thing. It's obviously not as good but I prefer it over nothing. When I'm making chilli I'm not going to go to the effort of actually smoking the meat when it's just a part of a whole dish so I usually chuck a bit in.

Borscht is an Eastern European beet/beetroot soup, there's a million variations on it. The cow tail stock thing sounds like it'd be a pretty authentic way to do it and it'd probably taste amazing after two days of simmering.

Despite being Yahoo, this is a decent reading, he nails the basics:

http://voices.yahoo.com/analysis-joel-ethan-coens-no-country-old-6357108.html

It's definitely interesting in how they do it. Chigurh has a code of morals and everyone is sort of in a grey area (bar Sherriff Bell I spose). I'll write more later, I need to see it again myself.

I saw Shame a couple of nights ago and it was fantastic, but I really felt dirty and drained afterwards. Still, reinforces that Michael Fassbender is an amazing actor. I didn't think it was as sexually graphic as it was made out to be but it's incredibly dark in how it uses sexual themes.
