Ok that's the 2nd reference made to the Hyrule level misnaming it as the Castle. There's a small word and a very large word. One says Hyrule. And the other says "Temple." It's temple. Repremandation recanted if it's different in another version.

I noticed something: Meta Knight isn't a "white weenie," as MTGers would see him as. He's got three
extremely useful moves: Down+B - Shreds people up. Seriously. Even if Mario capes it it still just keeps coming. Neutral Air A - sends people flying more easily than you'd realize. And my favorite move - the slash that comes with his Up+B. It's very powerful on the ground, but in the aerial, it makes him a freaking beast. I play with about 4 other people, and my win:lose ratio with Meta Knight since I've discovered his killswitches is 9:1, and the 1 was a SSD that killed me with a falling bom-omb.

::Praises Meta Knight some more :: :P

Just a suggestion - We should probably all exchange our most commonly used messenger handles so we can request battles and such. Talking on a forum is kinda awkward, and the timing for waiting on people to respond is relative too. At least in messengers, there's instant results without having to guess when they replied, loading the page over and over again.

The vids I've seen of you people are primo, by the way.

I've played against  each character at difficulty 9, and it seems like some characters are 'smarter' than others. Seems like it varies on stages.

On another note, I think Dedede is the new Ganondorf (big beasty.) But that recovery is ridonkulous.
Also, I'll break Diddy. Meaning, I'll eventually make him seem broken. :D
It's great to have your opponents fight over your nuts so they can try to spank your monkey.

On another note, as irrelevant as it is,

Mario's new down+b, my brother discovered, can send Mario backwards a little bit when trying to recover, and can also edgehog characters trying to recover from being smashed forward off of the stage. It also stops your opponent from running towards you at full blast; maybe it can help in the mindgame. His new midair down+a actually is pretty powerful at the end, much like Dr. Mario's from Melee. Anyway, he's still dead to me.

I think Ike's charged forward smash B and his AAA combo makes up for his speed, especially the mindgame made when spamming his first couple of A's in the combo. You can always press AA, then something else. n00b tip.

Also, Toon Link is 10x more broken than Young Link was in Melee.
If you don't think Young Link was broken in Melee, try fighting someone
who actually devotes themself to playing with him only for 3 straight years.
I was subjected to such death until Brawl came out, then the Young Link
player preceeded to pound me into powder with Toon Link after just picking
up the controller for the first time.

It wasn't fair that all I had to do to unlock all characters was to beat the subspace emissary and beat 10 missions to unlock wigglybaggs. :P I can't stand how mario plays now. He's dead to me. Luigi checks good, still, but I don't like G&W's midair A move anymore. For me, it'll either be Dedede, ROB, Ike, or Diddy. Diddy's kinda hard to play with, but the others seem to kick an insurmountable amount of ass with the ease that comes to getting KOs with Marth (Sarhan). It's easy to say you're badass when your character wins for you, but at least Marth is a little harder to play with this time around. I like his darting charged air B. I can't wait to get a router so I can get in the loop.

EDIT: Nevermind. I played with Diddy utilizing his slip advantage from the projectiles: This shit is .

So basically, I know nothing of the Wii except how to turn it on and play games. Can anyone tell me how to get my Wi-Fi connection to work, and all the prerequisites necessary to do so? God I feel like such a cake.

Seriously speaking though, I always try to sound epic, really for no particular reason. It's just a habit. I guess it's a persona I've developed through my years of mimicing the ancience of Christopher Lee, also possibly that one Maechen historian guy that tells you all that stuff about Spira in Final Fantasy 10.
Anyway, I main G&W also, but I may main Link or Mario, but with the new changes... I can't tell just yet.
I only like to play on the Hyrule Temple, Final Destination, and Battlefield, so maybe my skills will be hindered due to environment changes. I have recently been fighting on random stages, though. And sorry for starting to sound 'jackassy.' I'm just confident and zealous as always.

About the tournament: I'll hopefully be able to make it to the Uvalde/Woodforest location in my area.
Good luck to you all who participate.

I think I'll make a separate topic when Brawl is released. We can use the same thread to organize our first tournament a few weeks later as well. If any moderator would rather do it themselves, that's cool with me. Otherwise I'm making a thread as soon as I get Brawl at the midnight release.

I don't know man. I'm actually somewhat better than those vids you may have seen of me. The DVD player I used to record vids causes a small amount of input lag, screwing me over whenever I try to l-cancel, WD, or waveland. I can easily 3 stock those guys in the videos if I play without recording with the DVD player.

I'd preorder it just in case. Not sure about the gamestop in your area, but the ones near me get a lot of business, so I wouldn't necessarily consider them low key. Up to you though.

lol...don't know why me in particular, but hell, I'm down. It'll be my pleasure to give you all a beating.

If I were able to post vids of me, my friend and my brother playing, you'd understand why
I truely believe that I'd beat you, no questions asked. I hope we get a chance to prove
our conciets in time, Sarhan. Cheesy, same goes for you. We've been aching for new
blood for years. It'd be nice if you could find someone 75% as good as me to train against.
Might galvanize your skill for the epicness to come.  :fogetguns:

Agreed.  I think everyone's going to want a piece of Sarhan in this.  I'll add mine to a Wii code topic, but it's also in my sig.  Lookin' forward to fighting everybody...

Don't let anybody psyche you out by listening to their conciet of skill.
If you do, it'll mess with your split second decision making in Brawl.
What I'm saying is, and don't let this get to you: I know I'd beat Sarhan
in Melee, no questions. In Brawl, it's only a matter of me playing for a bit
to pick up the differences. I'll give out the WiiCode once I feel I'm ready
for the lot of you.

I'll give you a kitten if you send me your copy of FFVII or VIII.
Our copy of VII got stolen, and our copy of VIII is overplayed,
so it freezes at the Shumi Village entrance.

Hey I got a question: Has anyone played against CPUs? If they have, how much more intelligent would you say they've become versus difficulty 9 on Melee? Are there any retarded glitches such as Fox's movement loop on the lower part of the Hyrule Temple, Captain Falcon's down air-smash A jumping move versus an opponent on a high platform, Luigi's inability to simply do his Up+B recovery instead of F/Smash+B "Green  Missile" attack, or Marth's constant Midair+A suicide loop? I hope my question is clear and I didn't confuse anyone in the process.

And I believe I'm on the 3rd-party issue. :P

I'm gonna have to argue the hell out of that. How many Pokemon were there?
151. Now how many are there? How far apart is Pikachu from freaking Lucario?
I think characters who become important in the storyline, who are allies of the
main character, ie - Falco to Fox - should deserve consideration. I have to know.

I knew that once I saw him in there, he'd be a solid character. I seriously think he's gonna be one of those surprise top-tier characters. And about "hitting the Pikmin instead"... Does each Pikmin take an attack to kill? Does that mean a side-B can be caught like an item? Or is it just like a fireball? I saw gameplay on Youtube, but he didn't let the other guy do anything to defend against Olimar's attacks. It was a demonstration of how Olimar plays, but it was somewhat vague. On a sidenote, I never got the opportunity to play either Pikmin games. Any weight difference on Mr. Game & Watch? (I prefer to use his entire name. He deserves it. :P) On another note...

Has anyone bought one of those new "Old-School Style Wii controllers?" I was thinking about picking up some if they're more reliable than GC controllers.

Shadow should've been on Brawl - wtf...

EDIT: I meant Knuckles and Tails. Consider the Starfox Union and the Poke-Mafia. It's ridiculous.
Knuckles and Tails would be ideal instead of more Pokemon because they're
vintage characters, and with the release of Pit and Meta Knight with their
gliding abilities, why would Knuckles and Tails not be viable choices?

So I see someone played with Olimar. I'm curious. Is he just useless against characters with deflection abilities? Also, can Pikmin be caught like other thrown projectiles? Is there any significance of the Pikmin's ghosts? What does it feel like to play with Olimar and Pikmin? It just peaks my interest - an all projectile character with so many deflector abilites floating around... Anyone?

Oh I've heard of it, I also briefly played the original back on the Nintendo 64.  I just don't really know the dynamics of the game.

Can 4 people play against each other on the same machine?

Yes. Up to 4 players, with any combination of Players or CPUs with a difficulty from 1-9.

Are you saying you don't know of the SSB series? http://Http://www.smashbros.com just in case.
The single player modes mostly focus on training the player in using items and going against skilled opponents, 1 or 3, even teams. Super Smash Bros is focused around an all-out fast-paced battle to be the last one standing. It's hardly just a single-player. I'd guess the single player mode would get tiresome due to not having any competition, playing the same CPUs that fight the same way in every situation, like a uniform.

"Investing in some Real Estate"... Does that mean you're trying to find your place here?
That's not cryptic. That's just peculiar. Welcome to GW.
