Not to be creepy, but I was just thinking about you yesterday. Was about to try to find a copy of some of those GW games you made, etc.

I hope you've been well, DP! Any new awesome metal music recommendations?

Not sure anyone would remember me, but seeing so many usernames I remember sure is a nostalgia trip.

GW was a massive part of my life as a teenager. Feels so strange to be posting again!

Glad everyone is doing well

I remember you and I may be breaking some oldschool posting rules but fuck it. What's up man? I really miss oldcshool GW I'm gonna cry.

If I remake the site in some shitty PHP and HTML can I take over the original Domain name and get Project Maker fully up and running?

Also, I've got infinite GW-Points because I hacked Bart's admin console once so like, you guys owe me or some shit.

I got really nostalgic for Chef and Charles Barkely 2 and saw he had a kickstarter for like 105k dollars and I'm all like "When's this shit coming out" and I might possibly be in it but who knows? I've got a giant hardon for oldschool GamingW and whatever and I miss you guys so like.. like's get on re-uniting and shit. All I got to work with is like, oblivion's discord or some shit.

Fun fact. If you still have some Ice Points saved, their monetary worth has a slightly higher value than BitCoins at the moment. (Meaning, the value you can earn mining them.)

Also, I had a dream about GW so I decided to post today. Hello.

Been with GW for 12 years which is half of my life! 25 now. Initially joined GW for game development stuff but got involved with the Soldat sub community here so only soldat players would probably really know who I am. Currently going to college to become a network admin, figured I'd get sick of playing video games if I were to ever go into that field.

Ahhhhhhh Myst!!! Soldat!!!

I'm surprised Soldat isn't some big game on Steam these days or something. Soldat was an amazing game.

Reddit is the garbage pit of the universe.

Yeah sure, I'll join. I'll do one of those AWA shits where you can ask me questions.

I don't know why, but I clicked on the GW Forums link I still had bookmarked just now, and decided I should post here for old time's sake. I don't think I'll ever delete the bookmark. GW was an important part of my younger years and I still feel like you guys are part of my extended family. I hope everyone's life is going great!

Nice to see you again too Mateui!

Yes, the movie is about a queen. The movie's protagonist is her younger sister, which still makes it a princess movie.

You wouldn't be arguing this about Beauty and the Beast not being a princess movie because the Beast isn't a princess. Hell, Belle wasn't even technically a princess until like, the very last five minutes. Don't go talkin' smack to folks about things you are so clearly ignorant about. (furthermore, don't try and know more about princess movies and throw around the "bitch" slur in the same sentence, bitch)

Look, I'm the Sage of Ice, okay? I think I know a thing or two about the movie "Frozen."

And unfortunately for my ego, you are correct. You clearly know more about "Princess Movies" than I.

It's great to see you again, it's been so long. How does it feel to have a princess movie made about your life?

Elsa's a Queen, bitch.

Are there actually places like GW classic around? like people earnestly wanting to make 200 hour RPGs in RPGmaker with fully symphonic scores and voiced dialogue and epic stories and then getting 2 screens into it while people beg for updates

Not many. In fact the community is scarce since the latest RPG Maker costs like, 75 bucks unless you wait for it to go on sale on Steam for around $17-25 bucks.

If it wasn't for GW members I probably would have been a snob when it came to music for the rest of my life. I used to be this introverted kid who thought any music other than oldies and jazz was "music the ruffian kids listened to." Then DarkPriest would smack us in the face with some of his symphonic metal tastes and I'm all like, "I kinda dig this."
Symphonic metal was fucking badass, I still listen to that, I also like bands/groups like tool, vast, vnv nation and some other bands I can't remember the name of.

also, ice points? I don't remember that.

-20,000 Ice Points for not remembering Ice Points.

I'm making a new game with Ace VX... I keep revisiting here and the archives getting nostalgic.

There are tons of RPG Maker communities out there but none as organized as well constructed as classic GW.

GW also helped me break away from my teenage music tastes (Would I have discovered Jazz if not for someone uploading Bitches Brew in the premium section??? I think not! Here was one of the places where I first heard Zappa, my love of whom is all consuming.)

Q May I have special forums title please :>
You can set your member title in your profile???? Or do you mean something else?
I'm still wondering when "fafg" became an actual slur word... if even a real word at all. Back in the day, it used to be a universally accepted inside joke via the GW community.
Yes, it was a universally accepted joke based on the word "fag". It was a misspelling of the word "fag" and it caught on. It's OK if you didn't realize that at first, but just take my word for it, we don't particularly like hearing it. There was a time, years ago, when Raz actually made an emotive appeal to get people to stop saying fag and he was pretty much laughed right out of the room. That's just not how we are anymore. We've grown up.
Oh, my bad. I thought it was it's own dependant word. I knew it was based off a typo of the word, but didn't think people used the misspelling to mean it's similar word's meaning.

Always thought it was pronounced "Faugh-feg" and took on a life of it's own. Anyway, only mentioned it for nostalgia purposes. Carry on.

My apologies.

I still keep track of my icepoints man. Currently I'm on -3
I don't care for uneven numbers so you're granted an additional -7.

Also, I had a notepad file laying around somewhere with the actual list of points. So, I'm going to trust you on this.. but if my records say otherwise..

It's okay if you had a SlushPoints card though. Then you can get away with that crap. (or am I now getting too obscure?)

Of course, this is Salt World now, so forgive me for using made up inside joke words on a community of relevant denizens.

I'm willing to bet "Foget" is a slur now too, eh?

I've always considered fafg more of a friendly jab of appreciation.. like "bro" or "chap."

Either that or it was a number... but we've all outgrown math, right?

Hey there. I'm IceSage.

I wasn't that important but I did technically have control over 90% of Gaming World for absolutely no reason for a period of time and did absolutely nothing with it... Except give myself 999999 GW Points to myself via the admin panel (that had 0 security on it), but did nothing with them, as I secretly wished they were IcePoints instead.

I also had gay IRC sex with Mekesss, and was once in possession of a picture of Treesock's tits.

I also jerk off to Foget porn while simultaneously playing "Santa's Sled Racin' Mark II" in my spare time.

You have the ability to give off ice points you just need to gain back your powers....

Also hi Welcome back friend.... kind of funny yesterday Frankie was wounder where ice points came from when he was play testing the TOG pack for Barkley 2

I feel like I'm suppose to be honored that I'm included (in some essence) in this magnificent continuation of the Barkley Shut up and Jam: Gaiden series... Even though I feel like a terrible person for never fully finishing the first one.

I think I'm waiting for the Wii U release.

Question: What was your earliest childhood dream or what-you-wanted-to-be-in-the-future? (Did you achieve it?)

Since I'm posting in this thread over a decade later from when I fell into this tangled chaos you call a community; I can safely say that I've already accomplished my dream of becoming a disgruntled old man reminiscing over the "good ol' days," hanging out with you fafgs and praising the forgotten legends of our Lord and Savior, Foget.
