I only use reddit to insult the kind of terrible people who unironically use reddit. Like pickup artists and bitcoiners.

I had a gf I'm fond of who used reddit sometimes, but yeah, reddit is terrible. It also seems to be where the new-new media/new yellow press gets a lot of their reblog content farm ideas.

yea a girl I work with said she loves reddit and I was all whaaaaaaat. I don't know what reddit or tumblr are. here's what I think:

reddit: 'red pill', men's rights activism, photoshop x-rays to see celebrity nipples

tumblr: high school roleplay with characters based on gifs from harry potter twilight and glee, screenshots of games from obscure 80s consoles or something

I don't know anything. perpetual little brother disease

i don't know anyone who regularly reads reddit who isn't a douchebag

i realize that this is not valid evidence, but i'm guessing that this is a pretty universal case

It's easy to craft a positive experience there once you remove the default boards and go for smaller ones.
My account is worth it for how /r/pixelart has improved my portfolio, alone.

Just my 2 cents though.

Is there a reason a lot of the old GW members are coming back, or have we never left and just decided now to show ourselves again?
I still haven't actually left.  I poke around on this forum every few weeks to see if there's an update for A Blurred Line 2.  After ten years, still nothing.

I was having a shower and I heard a voice, "You must return to your birthplace."

This place is still a rotting carcass with a bunch of shit flies buzzing over it I thought somebody had a plan to make it a social again.

Fuck most of the time it was just vehement arguing but atleast someone was saying something.

SW brings back memories. Mostly that I was an arrogant annoying shit, and thinking back at how we acted back in the day, it's easy to understand why GW got such a bad reputation amongst the rest of the game making community. But still, it has a fond place in my heart. I discovered a lot of cool stuff here, and enjoyed having funtimes. GW also helped me break away from my teenage music tastes (Would I have discovered Jazz if not for someone uploading Bitches Brew in the premium section??? I think not! Here was one of the places where I first heard Zappa, my love of whom is all consuming.). I think this place served as a neat distraction from the dark periods of my life. I also thank this place, and Steel particularly, for the progression of my Left-Wing views, as I was a nasty conservative piece of work when I first joined here.
It's sad to see it like it is now, and like, yeah, this place is old, and we've moved away to the elsewheres, but still keep in touch with the odd random member. I occasionally go back to RPGmaker every now and again, like making an RPG influenced by Chinese legends and myths, which is essentially an excuse for composing 'serious' music. But then I get tired with having to make all the graphics and stuff and give up for a while, just like I used to in the olden days.

I'm making a new game with Ace VX... I keep revisiting here and the archives getting nostalgic.

There are tons of RPG Maker communities out there but none as organized as well constructed as classic GW.

If it wasn't for GW members I probably would have been a snob when it came to music for the rest of my life. I used to be this introverted kid who thought any music other than oldies and jazz was "music the ruffian kids listened to." Then DarkPriest would smack us in the face with some of his symphonic metal tastes and I'm all like, "I kinda dig this."
