also any of my games,

The Final Sacrifice, James Bind, or Supar Jablomfy Maen? The latter I'd really like to see again, it was an actual well functioning platformer in rm2k

otherwise I don't think I really shared anything else, everything else was just little demos of stuff
I really admired SJM and James Bind. I was able to dig up SJM. Here's a link -- enjoy!

But so help me god, if you use midis for the final version, I will hunt you down and slap you in the back of the head.
The original Final Fantasy 7 used MIDIs. :\

I joined six years go in 2002, and like most people I came here looking for rm2k stuff. It didn't take too long for me to get pretty bored with the whole game making scene, so I lurked quite a bit in other forums before eventually becoming active across the site. During 2004 I had no internet access, so I was away from here for quite a while. I became active again in 2005, and I've just been browsing around here on a basically daily basis. I've been semi-active in this community, but I don't think I stand out all too much. I have met some good people through here, and I like knowing what goes on with the members here... Checking up on their livejournal entries, chatting on AIM, etc. I've also made some good e-friends here who have helped me out with some things like music production, such as Grin Tree.

GW is a cool place to hang out and it helps take the stress out of my day!
I basically joined to ask you how to make a CBS back in 2002. You told me to read some tutorials and from there I just kept posting. Mr. Y invited me to become content staff. I did that for a while before the FBI accused me of molesting several children and I stopped posting on GW for a few years. Now I guess I'm back full-time. I'm still here because I use RPG Maker 2003, but as soon as I finish my one and only RPG I'm moving on to better things (game programming in java :naughty:).

It's also been scientifically proven that it's the most overrated game in existence. lolwut?

My worst gaming experience was a recent one. I ate out at this chinese place, which was pretty good. Then about 10 minutes after I started playing Pump It Up (korean DDR). I got sick to my stomach and ended up throwing up everywhere and destroying several toilets.

Usually, when your soundcard is built onto your motherboard, when you install a "second" one, it just overrides the one on the motherboard. I don't know if that helps out any, but that's what I've noticed.

I also had a similar problem where when I tried to record sound not from a mic but what sounds I "hear" (using Camtasia). I played the video back and it hadn't recorded any audio at all, even though nothing was muted on the windows' volume control. So then I discovered a second sound panel that had installed with the soundcard that was overriding all of my settings on the default volume control.

Hope that helps you out a bit.

One simple addition you can make to the healing class that will keep things interesting is simply more buff/supportive-type skills for your party and even a few debuffs for the enemies. People typically like spells that pump up a character's base stats as long as it is noticeable and worthwhile. Having spells like "stop" and so forth can be revamped a bit to have higher hit-rate (nothing like a useless skill that always misses), but during bosses maybe make it last a shorter amount of time or lower the hit-rate. Another issue that comes up a lot is balance. For instance, I'd want to use my healer to heal often, but if -- to use familiar FF items -- Ethers cost a fortune, it's much easier to just stock up on Potions for recovery and not even use your MP.

Final Fantasy 4 US was already made much easier for its release. You should try playing the hardtype version. Cecil has an additional attack.

For me the hardest RPG was some DND-based SNES game called Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom. I still get my ass kicked every single time. I never figured out how to heal, though.

I'm nineteen and I've never drank -- nor felt the desire to -- in my life yet.

One time a friend of mine thought it would be funny to try to get me to drink alcohol. She mixed vodka in some coffee and offered it to me. I took a sip, but before I could swallow it I noticed something was up and spat it on her face and proceeded to pummel her in the abdomen. Needless to say, we aren't friends anymore.

I don't use vista and I don't know much about it, but if you're lacking instruments it could be a problem with the soundcard. (Then again, a soundcard with a partial list of instruments seems weird.) What soundcard are you using? Typically the default ones are just built right onto the motherboard. If you have access to a spare one I say pop it in and see what happens.

I don't follow presidents too much, but I was always a fan of Herbert Hoover (the only fan lole?). He was ballsy enough to believe in Self-reliance even through the depression. It's admirable for someone to tell you not to depend on the government even when it seemed at the time that everyone needed something from them (due to fall in banks, issues with low wages, etc). It obviously wasn't enough, because Wilson was the one that really ended the depression.

This just made my day.

Rast, you've been a great inspiration to me as a gamemaker ever since, well, I've been making games with RM2k/3. It's really great to see you back, and I'm sure you'll have some amazing things for the community.

I feel sort of split on 2k/3 event "coding" and RGSS/2 scripting as well, but I'm probably going to stick with 2k3 until I finish my game.

[America] is getting dumber because religion is [becoming] more and more popular because of the internet mostly (internet is mostly [Christian])
Wow wut? Being an atheist is trendy nowadays. I don't think that was the case a few centuries ago.
