Ragnar's right, the Phantom wasn't one of their jokes at all.

I used to subscribe to EGM, but stopped a few years back when they  started going downhill. I think I looked at an issue at a friend's house a few months back and it was just abysmal.

Just for this comment, the contest is invalidated.

If it makes you feel any better, I have since tried Yummy's entry... And it doesn't effect my verdict at all. I talked to a few people, followed some guy into a bathroom, then it went back to the title screen. There really wasn't any real gameplay as far as I could tell. Also, none of the lighting in the game appeared on the map properly, with the exception of the starting room.

I voted for Hima's Dot Plus. Out of the lot it was the most playable, and actually pretty addicting... I've always had a thing for adding random numbers together.

Both Carius and Psy-Wombat's entries were unplayable for me, due to horrible lag in the former and missing files in the latter. Farmrush's entry was okay, but it really just seemed like a slight variation of Missile Command. Anaryu's entry seemed to have potential, but I didn't care for the controls much and the character just moved too slowly.

I didn't even play Yummy Drumstick's entry, as there was no information on it and when I clicked the download link I was presented with 4 different files, and I wasn't sure which I was supposed to download or if I needed more than one file.

That's actually pretty accurate based on almost every comic Joker has appeared in.  He's supposed to be a rail thin guy with a massive chin, lime green hair, and a razor sharp smile.  Ledger's Joker wasn't even close to the comic book Joker.  Nolan did a real good job at creating a realistic psycho with clown paint but it was still pretty far off.

The character's models aren't bad in themselves it's just that they look like fucking plastic action figures.  Superman's leg in that last screenshot isn't even bending properly.

I know it's close to what the comic version of Joker looks like, but to me the model just looks way too stiff and the arms and head look like they aren't attached properly. Although looking at the other screens it seems like all the models look a little weird.

I forgot to mention this. The cities will be kind of alive. People going to work, people driving around, walking about doing whatever... Not like your typical MMO where Dwarf 121234 sits on his chair all day. So, you can stop crimes, help citizens, and eventually save/destroy the world. The missions will be more oriented to where you are, and what you're doing.
Later in the game, you can jetison to key points in the world to swiftly save some sadelite technology before it falls into the wrong hands. And in major hero/villains battles, I'm guessing like Battle Grounds in WoW, you'll fight alongside Superman / Lex and face off against other heroes / villains.
I wonder how dynamic all this really is going to be though. And are crimefighting and civilian saving missions going to be instanced or anything to prevent some idiot from jumping in at the last second and stealing the credit? Also I don't see "destroy the world" missions panning out too well. Perhaps they could do a more balance of power approach where a city/region can be controlled by one of the factions.

I thought this had been cancelled?  There have been a lot of console MMOs announced and worked on etc and it's really sad to see that none of them launch.
If I remember correctly the Cit of Heroes guys were working on a Marvel MMO that got cancelled. Now they're working on Champions Online or something like that.

I don't think I'm going to get this though, as I've never been a fan of DC outside of Batman. Also, Joker looks terrible.

The graphics kind of remind me of playing an eight year old game on a newer PC: smoothed out, but designed for outdated hardware. Plus it doesn't really help that it sounds and looks pretty generic. The gameplay will have to be amazing for me to consider getting it.

Not defending Hunter's trolling, but I doubt the new games are going to be much more than screen touching minigames that Nintendo's already slapped on a few Mario games, and aren't the redone graphics just ripped from the GBA Kirby?

As much as I adored the original Kirby Super Star I really doubt I'm going to get this unless they add alot more than a few mingames with fancified touching controls.

Try leaving your car and finding some good spot where you can take cover and then find another vehichle. Narrow alleys, under bridges or somewhere in shadow. A really fast car can also do the trick, I believe.

Also, speaking of Brucie (he really is fucking awesome), the mission where is hilarious.
After I completed the mission a random pedestrian decided to play hero and starting shooting at me and in the process hit another guy. Next thing I knew about eight people were in a full on gun fight, with cops joining in a few seconds later. It was an awesome end to a funny mission.

The only item the really seems to get first place stolen from me is the blue shell, but I usually can recover by the end of the race. However there have been a time or two that I got bombarded right before the finish line and dropped a few places. I really don't think items are as disruptive as people make them out to be.

I'm going to a midnight launch. Taking my friend with me even though he isn't getting it.

I'm going to be upgrading my Live account to play it online. I heard that it comes with a free month of Live, anyone know if that's true? If it isn't I'll just activate the subscription card I got as a present. Also, does this have support for clans in any form?

So is anyone else getting the special edition?

I've only played with the GC and classic controllers and I'd say the GC controller feels better. To me the analog stick felt awkward on the classic controller. I think I'll give the wheel a chance, but seemed awkward when my firend was using it.

And here's my friend code if anyone wants to play against me:

I'll be getting the 360 version and I think starting a GW Crew sounds like a great idea. So is there support for clans in it?

I can see them turning this one into a trilogy easily. First movie: random BS filler with a couple insignigant fights, introducing the villian late in the movie. Number two: fighters train for battle. more insignifigant fights, Goku dies, dragon balls get collected. Movie three: Goku is revived, but the others must stall the villian until he arrives to charge his ki for about an hour and use the spirit bomb to kill the villian, more stupid filler, new villian arrives. All three movies would have to be at least three hours or more.

Really makes me wonder how I was ever a diehard DBZ fan when I look back at the flow of the show.
