   Jane Muon leapt like a sabertooth across a blue beam. It was made of metal; everything is made of metal. The glum moonlight cracked the clouds and draped the glow of drone lights. It was in a city. Jane was insouciant because she had just pulled off the biggest heist in her dreams; wakened thought of herself asleep and went off to find a hammer. In the four corners of the district were four cops, one at each tower. They received word from an aerial aimed voice like a wild duck quacking "Jane is on the way to a crime. Get her." There was only one person named Jane.
    Jane found a hammer under a car and went down to the lower level. It had a window on one wall, the north. It was covered in bricks. As she stepped out of the elevator a vehicle crept, freezing the cyberrogue like a deer. Jane started moving again after it left. Jane walked to the north and broke a panel with her hammer. An alarm started as she threw the hammer at an eyebot at maximum cleanliness. The remaining eyebots observed as one of the cops opened a hatch in the southeastern end and jogged up the ramp on the east side, becoming even with Jane in 5 seconds. It shot a missile at her. The missile destroyed her with success. The cop spun around to the southeastern entrance where Jane respawned. She sprinted back up the stairs and jumped out a visored window, landing in a helicopter piloted by her boyfriend.
    Jane said "That was a close call." Dane Gluon said "Just in time." Jane said "I only have three lives left. I need to get some 1-ups." Dane said "I think I know where you can get some 1-ups." Jane said "Oh yeah? Where?" Dane said "The Matrix."

Can somebody add a fucking button to these topics that lets you jump to the last page? Because for some reason whenever I click on topics like this and the oldbie thread it sticks me back into like 2015 and I gotta spend ten to fifteen minutes clicking the fuckin arrow and loading page after page after page to get to where I last left off.

And it’s not a memory thing, not where I’d last left off or posted or anything it just keeps sticking me deadass in the middle of it.

Probably not the thread for it, but what did you think was the dumbest part of Death Stranding? I haven't played it, but I like to read about it, because whatever it does seems to make people feel pretty strongly.

Oh they love it when people have funny and articulate dissenting opinions. That post would go over great there. The userbase only appears unanimous if you look at the threads for a single game; everyone who doesn't like the game will just ignore the thread. And since we're on the subject I've even read SB people directly criticize Kojima and call him a hack, without anyone feeling attacked and sticking up for their beloved Kojima-sensei, as would doubtlessly happen in plenty of games discussion spaces.

BUT I know exactly what you mean about trying to find something interesting because a lot of the threads are just total mundanities. e.g. Star Wars talk. It was sort of unpleasant to reread my last post and realize that passively going over those mundanities is literally what I consider "nonpoisonous media discussion". That's how I get my entertainment news. I probably shouldn't recommend forums on the basis of my own total disconnection from reality.

Overall, they have a diverse enthusiastic userbase so they're at their best when they're working together to gather examples of interesting things from a wide array of games. If you ask them for recommendations, they're fantastic. They're at their worst when you read the threads about a single game, where everyone will agree circuitously. Or ask for help with a frustrating section.

While there is certainly no better home for d*mptop than this one, seeing as it's such a salt world thing through and through, I do wish I knew some way to bring eyes here... 300 pages of screenshots, text and video devoted to experiences that otherwise go unexplored - it's like a grand unexcavated mausoleum of the gaming artform.

thecatamites still actively participates in forums. Just not this one anymore.

The select button forums and insert credit forums (not sure why they're separate sites now) are where I get my nonpoisonous media discussion these days. Many propitious threads see regular updates. I sure wish our dump thread could be copied over there because then it would get attention from more than a handful of people.
