In class we had to make a commercial and edit it ourselves. They gave you a list of 10 items and then you had to come up with the concept, camera shots etc blah blah.

Here is the one we did, its pretty funny I think. We chose Playstation 3 randomly because everything else was pretty bland (car rental), i had a few ideas but i think this one was the best. the message is 'get better hobbies'. Its just a bit of fun. I didn't shave especially.

ahaha i liked it but there's a few issues
-you're the boss in the commercial
-sniffing seats is a better hobby than playing ps3

you look the most professional, your chair is higher and better, their chairs have their backs to the door. there's a few other quirky things but i think they're to be expected with your equipment/actors.

on the whole i think it's pretty good. what paper is this for? are you meant to be using any special techniques or anything? also looks like you've put on a bit of weight...

It's for Media Practice, nah its just basicially editing techniques and stuff. Haha the camera it....it just puts on the pounds. Nah its mostly from drinkin', being a student does that to ya.

continuity: the ad begins with you drinking from a glass and setting it on your right side, but it is then shown to be on your left side

also i just showed paul, he's at massey, he said he thought it was a real ad but it may have been sarcasm.

I quite liked it. Probably better than real PS3 adverts notthat I've seen any.

I liked it, however I didn't like the idea that he (you) weren't embarrassed by your actions and just shrug and continue, kinda toned down the humor for me, but it was a good concept.

it increases the humor. it's his hobby, they had already caught him, he probably wasn't going to get the job. you would expect him to be shocked and lie or something but he just goes with it, it's funnier.

yeah this, the whole point is that he has already been caught so he's already not gunna get a job, initially you can see that he is a bit shocked and then he is like 'meh too late now' and resumes enjoying himself.

also should i send this to sony in hopes of getting free stuff

also i'm using a massive massey screen i could see how many drops the glass had left

I remember seeing an actual advert that had this same concept. I can't remember what it was advertising (saw it on Tarrant on TV). The only difference, is that the man sniffs a womans chair. I was wondering whether you had got inspiration from this.

Anyway, the advert was not bad, I would probably try to improve the sound a little by dubbing the voices in a dry room becuase there seems to be a lot of background noise. But yeah, thats technical jargon. Nice effort

Yeah that's technical stuff we couldn't really help too much. Climbtree is right about continuity though.
