Providing Mr. L is up for it, we'd need just one more. A lot of others have been doing stuff like this through paypal. Being that this is my idea; I guess I'll have to set it up.

Been watching someone play the game for most of today.
Looks really awesome, but there is a few problems I saw with it.

Firstly, there seems to be a lack of variety with a lot of stuff.
Sure the game might have 90 billion guns or whatever, but most of them look or act similar to all the others, and there is very few unique guns.
Enemies also lack variety. There is big bandits, medium bandits and midget bandits, flying monsters, dog monsters and spider monsters. That is literally all I saw in the game while watching for maybe 5-6 hours.
All the areas look fairly similar too.

The game also seems way too easy. Apparently, there is no difficulty slider, and the person I was watching play the game was easily able to run around and gun down any enemy without much difficulty. Despite playing as the weakest character (in terms of how much damage they can take and weapons they can specialize in) and would rarely bother upgrading weapons, or even spending skill points on new skills.
He only had difficulty with one quest, and he finished that by abusing the second wind system (when you die you have like 10s before you actually die, in those 10s you are invincible but cannot move and have decreased accuracy, if you manage to kill anything, even one grunt that can be killed in one hit, you auto revive with a good percentage of your health and shield back, you can pretty much do this until all enemies in an area are dead).

Also, the version I was watching being played xbox 360) had really long loading times. But areas were fairly big and you could easily spend an hour or longer in them.

Also, single player in the game does not seem to be as long as it should be. Including doing all side quests, he was probably 80-90% through the game at around 17 hours.

I would advise you all get the PC version of the game if possible. If only for the fact that possible mods could fix the issue of difficulty and maybe even add more stuff to the game.

The weapons have much more variety later on, it really all depends on the rarity and even still each weapon has at least one unique thing about them(like a shotgun that rapidly shoots two shells at once for example or an explosive barret-looking sniper) but usually the least rare weapons tend to not have the most uniqueness but thankfully the blue weapons which are the second most common weapons have more variety and those are rather common too. Plus you only watched 5 hours, there is much more to see later on and there are more areas to explore including the rust commons and snowy mountain areas. The load times don't seem terrible from what I was watching, and even if it is sometimes its still understandable because the game basically instances enemy and loot area spawns plus each area is relatively big. Finally, 17 hours? Really? He was probably not doing side quests and just rushing through the main story missions, the person I was watching took at least 15 hours to finish every quest in arid wastelands(at least I think it was every quest) and then he moved on to rust commons and he barely scratched the surface of the side quests there.

He was playing single player, if I understand correctly the difficulty scales the more people you play with.

I hear of a new game+ mode as well which ups the difficulty too.

You're in luck. If you get a 4 pack through steam, it comes out to 33.75(US). You just need to find 3 other people... Incidentally; I wouldn't mind going in for a four pack with three other people.

I am totally up for this if there's still an available spot.

i was watching bradon's live feed(the one Liquid Ocelot linked to) last night, and the Gearbox devs(4+ showed up, including at least one who didn't even work on Borderlands) in the chat said he was only about halfway though the game at 16-17 hours in.

I have this game and it is not that easy.

Well, it really depends on when you take your quests (each quests shows its difficulty depending on your level). I've ran into about 3 or 4 that pushed my limits. Seriously, there will be about 5-10 enemies on screen shooting you at once, and they take ages to kill if they're at the same level as you. I'm playing as Lilith, so she can't just rush in there guns blazing most of the time. It's absolutely crucial you spend points on the skill tree. With Lilith, her shock and stun attack in phasing mode is very useful as it slows the enemy down so you're able to run back and pull off some shots on them. The Second Wind system isn't that bad, it's only useful if you're not in a boss fight (where you will die the most). Sometimes shit just pops out of nowhere in this game and you die ridiculously quick, so second wind comes in handy in situations like that. Guns are mostly similar, but the ones with elemental attributes are the ones you should get.

I have a really cool burst fire rocket launcher which is really good.

Also yes this game has absolutely no variety. You will do quests, that is all. There is some dumb story about the vault but it's bullshit and they obviously tacked it on near the end of production. It's pretty much Diablo. Most of the areas are bland as well. I've only gone through one really cool place which was some hideout, but I'm only maybe 6 hours in so we'll see if that changes.

also upgrade your backpack capacity because it is the single most important thing in this game.

I'm here, just not watching 24/7

But yeah, I'm probably interested in the 4-way rebate for Borderlands. Count me in.

ps: don't try to contact me in the following hours, I will be working.

To those who were interested earlier, please post your steam names. We can work out the details after that.

Apparently a fair few BestBuys have broken the street date and released it. Also, the PC release date is apparently now the 20th, but release dates are all over the place, even on the official Gearbox pages.

I'm just annoyed as fuck that I have to wait another week till it unlocks on Steam for me, I prepurchased like two and half weeks ago and I can't play yet D:

The game is looking real good, and if an SDK is released (they hinted at one as far as I know) then I'm pretty sure there'd be some sweet mods coming out.

Nightblade, and all others related to this four-pack deal, hear this out.

The way the four-pack deal works is one guy has to pre-order 4 copies of the game and send out 3 as  gifts. :|

Idk if anyone is up for shelling out 134$ and wait to be paid back through like paypal or something for this, but I know if it does happen I won't be the one buying the 4 copies.
