i don't know about adventure game maker but you could always look at inform if you want to make a text adventure type of game (i think there's a plugin that lets you use graphics, i've only just played around with it a little though)

earl, yes, adventure game maker can do that, though i don't know how

look at Yahtzee's adventure games, I'm pretty sure they were done in agm, and Trilby's Notes had you enter commands instead of clicking around

i agree, that's a really important distinction - way to tell 'em, puppet master, heh...

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

Since it has been a day and the topic seems to have become more about Adventure Game Studio then anything else... my screen is from a game called "Amazon: Guardians of Eden." Came out way back in 1992, and had puzzles you solved by breathing through a hollow reed, playing in an enchilada, and killing giant spiders. Failing netted things like getting locked up for 20 years with interesting cellmates, or getting your face chewed off by Piranha. It had an on board hint option that lowered your character's IQ score based on how many hints you used, and made fun of you about it.

Looks like one of the Hugo games. Not sure which of the three, though it isn't the one in Africa (or wherever it was set). Probably the first one, because I think you controlled the girl in the second one?

@Evangel: It's Hugo's House of Horrors, which I am pretty sure was the first one. The second one had you in the grounds of some huge mansion, and the third one was set in Africa. It was impossible. Climbtree I guess has usurped the order though =(

Its Hugo 2: Whodunit

And I beat the third one without using a walkthrough when I was like 8, probably the only adventure game I did that with

Well, I said it was a Hugo game first and Jackyl clarified - so Climbtree's post is irrelevant, as usual. Besides, his screen is probably just "qnother DooM clone imho."

Oh yes now it is coming back to me! I always remember those old VGA games looking way better than they actually did, for some reason. Me and my dad beat the first and second one without any walkthroughs but couldn't beat the 3rd one (that stupid f-ing ghost always befuddled me).

Let me geuss Kings Quest? Kings Quest 2?
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.
