I came up with this idea when I was really bored today. I am having trouble finding work here at home and there is literally bugger all to do here.
I've decided that I would like a nicer body for sex and that I am going to act on that for the few months I have off over summer (and beyond). Next year I am moving into student halls that are literally a stone's throw away from my department, but also the sports center and gym. So I'll be able to get an hour in here and there alongside my crazy 3rd year engineering schedule. The general concept of this idea is that I will stand in as much of the same position as I can possibly manage, each day and take a photograph of my body using a digital camera against a white background. I will then use my matlab skills to make a program that outputs an AVI of all the pictures I have taken, similar to time lapse photography.
I figured I could also use the image processing functions to align my body in the centre of each frame so that it is easier to make the animation flow smoothly. Obviously this could be done perfectly but I would need to go to a studio every day to do it and I don't have one. There's also the issue of my hair which changes every day (it's medium length, but pretty wild) so that would be flailing around like electricity in the animation.
A few people have done similar things on youtube, with their face. There's a video of a tree that goes through all four seasons in time lapse on there too.
What do you guys think? Is this boring? Stupid? Unachieveable? I am going to use it to springboard me into a routine so I am a better third year student (i.e. less complacent, healthier, better self esteem and more motivated).
