Hey guys, the new dream theater album sucks. Discuss!

I've realized that I think they always sucked. I just used to suck too so I liked them.

I saw them live and they weren't too great.

Ok for the eighties or whatever I guess but yeah they pretty lame now

I heard the new album is better because they aRE ACTUALLY WRITING SONGS

but I haven't listened to them in like three years so I can't really say anything about them.

I listened to the new album for the heck of it aaaaand yeah, it was pretty bad and uninspired. It had its moments and it's not completely without merit but I don't even like them so I wasn't expecting to like the new album. The Count of Tuscany had good parts though.

I shall download and be critical. I saw them at download and it occurred to me that they are more of a night-time band. They are more sorta epic and the whole numetal/oldiemetal crowd there just didn't appreciate them at all. I can see them doing alright at a prog festival but they are always gonna fail to get it right in the mainstream sphere of people.
