I don't know, this doesn't really hit me at all on any meaningful level. I mean, when a guy like George Carlin died I was sad because he was still doing things I cared about, but it really seemed like Michael Jackson the singer's fame ran out years ago to be replaced with Michael Jackson the crazy person's fame.
If Michael Jackson the singer had died it would be tragic for the world, but now it's only tragic for his family, who I don't know so their "emotions" don't affect me. I'm not going to shoot jokes at the guy since he's dead, but it really seems like the public outcry of sadness is just ridiculous.
I mean... I'm 24 and I was too young to remember any of his music coming out. I mean, I grew up listening to as a sort of "classics" compilation, and he certainly had some good songs, but it's not like I grew up with it or anything. Since most of GW is around my age, I wonder who here was impacted THAT GREATLY by him?
