Hopefully this time tomorrow I'll be playing Metro 2033 but for now I'm playing Fallout 3 again. With some awesome mods, I can sprint, iron sight, etc. It's very cool.

Speaking of iron sights, why is it that shotguns in BC2 just zoom when they have perfectly fine iron sights?

Also. I suck... like REALLY suck at Bad Company 2.

I don't care for soloing the new FPS games, but they're all fun with a friend.

I beat CoP. I like how the ending mentions pretty much every significant sidequest in the game and what happened to the characters involved, depending on the way you did things.

I can wholeheartedly recommend it. My only gripes are the sound effects (the guns sound legitimately awful, get a mod for it), and that the ironsights aren't all aligned properly (again, mods). I suppose the shortness of the whole thing is a valid thing to complain about, but it's got decent replay value, and freeplay is enjoyable anyway, really.

Out of interest, how short is the length (won't affect my decision to buy it, I love the STALKER games) is it shorter than Shadow of Chernobyl (took me around 12-16 hours for that one).

It probably took me about that time, maybe an hour or so less. Also, the anomaly and artifact system is changed a lot. There are now massive anomaly sites, where there's a ton of anomalies, and artifacts hidden around the place. You've gotta whip out your detector to find said artifacts. It's much better, makes Artifact hunting a very viable method of income. Here's a screenshot of the detector stuff-

The various white symbols are different anomalies, and the green crosses are artifacts. The artifacts only appear visually when you get near, so you need a detector. There's different types of detectors, too. The most basic one simply flashes more the closer you get to an artifact, which makes things difficult.

That looks fucking brilliant.

I'm gonna put some money on my credit card tomorrow just to buy that game.

Add me on Steam, bro.

Been hooked on Final Fantasy 13 as of late.  It's fun,  but it definitely has a love/hate thing going on with me.  Love the battle system, hate the Point A to Point B layout of everything I've seen so far. (I'm only at the beginning of disc 2 on the X360 version)  Love the character skills tree/development in the Crystarium or whatever it's called, hate the actual interface they designed for it.  I also hate the Metal Gear Solid 4-like pacing of the start of the game; two minutes of gameplay followed by five to ten minutes of cutscenes, but unlike MGS4 it actually shifts away from it eventually.

Borderlands for the first time with my little brother (who has beaten it already)

So far its OK. but IDK. I find myself not really enjoying co-op type games in general. I find myself being to greedy with equipment and I stress if some else takes the good equipment cuz I worry that I might need it later, and I feel crappy every time my brother does most of the shooting and I do poorly. I find that I do kind of terrible when someone is depending on me in a game cuz I crack.

Then there is the fact that I like to be in control of my gaming experience. Like back when we had Halo: Combat evolved and played coop. I was essentially in charge. But its hard to be in charge when the other guy knows more about the game. It frustrates me.

oh and its been drilled into me that the only thing that matters is to deal the last bit of damage to get a satisfying 'kill' so I get a unhappy mental twitch when I deal damage and my brother finishes them off and a pang of misplaced guilt if I happen to do the same.

I'm also all about being immersed in my games (except competitive multiplayer) which is kind of hard when I hear my little brother talking... or hell anyone that says something online that would be "out of character".

agh and I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority cuz everyone I talk to about co-op says "WOOT CO-OP I LOVE CO-OP". I'm just like... "really?". What am I missing? Feel like I'm missing out on some sort of party. The CO-OP party.

I think part of the enjoyment of co-op is to HAVE FUN WITH OTHER PEOPLE, not so much from a gameplay perspective but just from a general social perspective? Like I'm not trying to dig into you man, but if being immersed in a game is more important than social interaction, well.

(doesn't apply in all cases tho! some people are terrible to co-op with, so)

everything in life boils down to hangin with the bros i guess :welp:

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

Thinking about it a little more. Its possible that I enjoyed Halo Co-op so much cuz I was in the same room then and now its online across the country?

Speaking which I really like split screen of any sort. so maybe that is it...

I'm content to compete online but any social gaming I need to be in the same room to enjoy that.

another possibility: "co-op with my little brother wasn't that great, I'm just being nostalgic."

just started playing FFXIII yesterday.  I don't really have much time to play it until April actually, but i'm going to log in a few hours before my week gets really busy with homework and what not.  Its ridiculously linear and all that shit, but I've been told that it gets better as the game progresses, and i'm really only like an hour and half in so far.

After I learned that Monster Hunter Freedom 3 will be coming out soon I started playing MHFU again, I still hate Diablos with a burning pasion, How can i solo a fatalist with little effort but a Diablos wipes the floor with me
Thankfully MHF3 is coming out on PSP, i was worried after MH-Tri came out on the Wii.

And just finished playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Personally I didn't like it which is sad as i loved the other Crystal Chronicle games.

For some reason I got the urge to play Pokemon Silver/Gold. but lacking the ability to link trade. Can't trade between my two GBA's because the games apparently don't recognize the GBA link cable.  It worked fine on my OLD gameboys, but they died years ago.

Anyone know how to -- if it's possible -- to link the games via emulators?  I tried VBALink, but the games keep giving me the message that "Your friend isn't ready"  I even tried TGB Dual, but the GB 2 slot wouldn't recognize the second games save file.

I'm also playing League of Legends with a few of my friends from Canadia -- I've been face-rolling people as the OP character Ryze.  Last match I caused 2 people to rage-quit, I'm such an asshole.
