Penumbra: Black Plague. Great horror first-person adventure game. Lots of puzzles and it's freaky as hell. Pretty impressive graphics for its time too.
Did you play Overture first? If not you will probably miss out on some significant plot details.

I am currently playing:

Red Faction: Guerilla (just started)
Battlefield 1943 (fun imo and worth the extremely cheap xbox live arcade price)

and just finished Prototype which was a decent game.

Been playing through MGS3 again, trying to get all those damn frogs. I'd give it about 20 minutes before I give up and start using a guide.

BlazBlue, newest fighting game created by the same guys that made the Guilty Gear series.

Cheers to anyone that plays it.
Really? What are your thoughts so far? I'm very interested in hearing what GWers think of the game.

I'm currently playing a lot of Race for the Galaxy and Dominion, although my Dominion plays have gotten less as I'm waiting for Intrigue to get to my house.

(No one said this topic was only about video games :P)

I was sitting here thinking, "What obscure console is Mateui playing games on? Those names sound like generic Atari titles or something."

But then I saw the last line and things made sense.

Bubsy the Bobcat - you had Mario I had Bubsy
Whoa I can't believe someone else liked this game besides me...
I use to rent this all the time when I was a kid... although I wonder how much I'd like it now?

Anyway right now I'm playing Persona 3:FES, this is my first time playing Persona 3 and so far I'm enjoying it alot. To tell you the truth I thought I would hate this game because of the dating sim-ish aspects but that's not the case at all.

Also since alot of people recommended it I've been playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. So far it's great, probably the best Star Wars game I've ever played (not to mention the Jeremy Soule mixed with standard Star Wars music soundtrack is awesome). I generally don't play western RPGs, mainly because I hate anything with a typically high fantasy style (Well besides Berserk, but that's like dark fantasy or something right?) but ever since I played through Oblivion (yeah it's high fantasy-ish but for some reason I still liked it) I've aquired a taste for western RPGs especially the ones outside of the high fantasy realm.

I dunno I'm starting to think the only reason I never liked western RPGs was mainly because I haven't played that many. I mean the only ones I've played are Secret of Evermore (does this even count?), Deus EX, Septerra Core, Fallout 1/2/3, Oblivion and KOTOR and all these were in like the last 5 years (well besides Evermore, I grew up with that one). With such a short list how the hell can I say I don't like them!? (especially when I've liked everything actually ON the list)

Trying to use up the last month of membership on WoW, but haven't had much to do after hitting 80. Been playing a bunch of old games, like speed-running through Super Mario Bros 1 and 2 and the first Legend of Zelda for the NES. May go back to Super Mario Bros 3 or a few of Megaman 1-6 games, or maybe LoZ Oracle of Ages/Seasons, or FFV.

I've been wanting to go through all the Zelda games in order (never beat Zelda 2, Majora's Mask, or Twilight Princess) but I just haven't had the willpower yet.

If I were to take the time that I played, I would have to say it took me about a month and a half to hit 60, and then I quit playing for a while. When I came back (when I got my hands on the Burning Crusade), it took me another month or two to get to 70. And since I got Wrath of the Lich King, it took me a little over a month and a half to get to 80. I wish I was one of the people that could go through and hit 70-80 in a week, but I wouldn't find much use in it as I couldn't see myself working with multiple characters.

I don't get the point in leveling to 80 in a week to begin with.  Excuse me while I just skip through huge portions of this game I pay good money for just to play the end bits over and over again.

Europa Universalis 2 which is a buggy trainwreck (70% of the time savegames just don't load unless you do it JUST RIGHT) but I love it anyways, just for the sheer open-endedness of it.

Also, Insurgency. It's an amazing mod for the Source engine. It's super-realistic Middle-Eastern gameplay. Right now it's got some issues, but they have a very active fanbase and the developers actually listen to them, so the next big update will hopefully address all the major ones. I recommend it to anyone who likes FPSes that aren't terribly arcady!

edit:
dead rising

this shit is fucking hard

It's only so hard because the controls are so abysmal. They are for 360, anyways. Guns are impossible to aim and useless, the camera swings around like an ornery drunk (causing your attacks to go off in wild directions) and the button layout is just not good. There's also the minor fact that half the game contains 100000 swords and baseball bats everywhere and the other half contains... A BENCH or DIAMONDS which are useless weapons.

I didn't really have a problem using guns in Dead Rising. I actually thought the controls worked pretty well in that game. The only time I felt any sense of false difficulty was when certain "bosses" would re-spawn randomly, or some of the yellow raincoat guys (although some cop pistols or a nailgun or two worked wonders on them). I hated being in the middle of a rescue, happily herding a trail of people through a certain area only to have those convicts I'd disposed of a couple hours before re-appear, riding around in a jeep with a howitzer. The end game did get a little dicey with the soldiers, but their machine guns did pretty good and so did a cleaver like weapon from one of the bosses in the underground area.

I liked that game a lot, but the saving system is the thing that partially killed it for me. I understood the feeling they were going for, but it was total b.s. and made casual "pick up and play" nigh impossible. When I wanted to show friends the game, or just play around and let people come over and kill some zombies, I threw in the demo instead of the full game just so I didn't have to deal with making it from the save area to a fun gameplay area, etc. That's never a good sign!

Just remembered one other b.s. area. The mission where you have to defuse bombs under the mall... for that one I ended up starting the game over so I could do the side quest that nets you a key to the doors down to the underlevel. I did all my running around through the mall, using those handy stairwells to gather/defuse (I forget which, been a couple years) the bombs and avoid Carlos (Carlito...whatever).

i never heard about psychos respawning, didn't know it happened

at least, never happened to me and my friend

however, there's something weird about the game me and my friend found, that makes the part with the soldiers much much easier. basically, you can pick them up and just throw them (the move where he just lifts people over his head and hunks them over) and well, they die in a hit from that. always. the only problem is when there are 3 of them ganging up on you, but otherwise it makes killing soldiers so much easier

speaking of dead rising, i am very much so looking forward to dead rising 2

Well ive always had most fun levling my characters in mmo's rather than end game content anyway.

Holy shit, if that works I will love you as I've been stuck on that extra time bit for ages...

Also been playing Crysis, The Sims 3 and replaying Oblivion. I love them all for various reason.
