Okay, still stuck on that boss in FFXIII, using Sentinel definitely helped but then the mofo casts doom on me.  WTF, no one I know who has passed this part mentioned this to me and I failed this battle twice precisely because of that.

Is it Bartafdjaksdfasfklas? Because I know a friend mentioned they had Doom cast on them and I was like wtf because that never happened to me. A trick to sort of circumvent this is to summon your eidolon before you die; when the doom counter runs out, your eidolon will revive you, and bam! Easy workaround.

mega man 10

good game, although it's kinda hard to terminally fuck up a mega man game. loads easier than the last one, particularly if you play as proto man. there's nothing really noteworthy to say about the game, really. in general things seem to work better in the game, and there's a bit more to do in this game than there was in the last one.

i guess i could nitpick and say that the music was pretty unspectacular and forgettable and some of the graphics had a somewhat unpleasant ms paint look to them. this is pretty critical though! the best mega man levels are the ones where the music and visual design really work together to get you into the action of it more than just the gameplay does. i recall there being some that kinda worked on that level in the last mega man game, but i didn't really feel that in this one. the music was kinda flat and the visual design not all that interesting.

maybe i should just run through the game again to see what the hell my beef was with it, because this feels kinda silly. i've played the older mega man games recently and could kinda get caught up in the spirit of it a little easier than i could with this one. maybe i'm just getting old.

Yep, that's the one and I didn't know about that Eidolon trick either, so thanks for that one. ^_^

he casts doom if you take too long with the battle

that's why you shouldn't be using sentinel too much, only switch to a setup with sentinel sometimes when needed (med/med/sen when you want to heal and com/rav/sen when you want to keep damage up while needing to tank something). i think that boss was ridiculously easy so if you can't beat him yet you are probably underleveled or aren't using correct tactics, try leveling up your crystarium board for a bit or upgrade your weapons.

use libra scope at the beginning of the battle because the boss has 5 parts so that way you don't have to cast libra many times. take care of the sub-parts first and then beat the main body, use com/rav/rav and com/com/rav mostly for damage and building bonus chain, buff your party and use saboteur if you want to, i don't remember how useful it was against that boss. if you still can't beat him use one of those items which give you haste and other buffs at the beginning of the battle to make it easier.

Wow FFXIII sounds pretty lame. You people make it sound like playing an MMO alone. :(

Wow that makes me feel better, boss decides to just kill me outright cause I was killing him too slow. :(

Well, I'll upgrade my weapons since the last time I remember doing that was before the whole Palumpolum city thing, although I had no problems with battles until this particular boss despite that.  Crystarium I spent a lot of time on with most of the ranks among my party members being up to Level 3.  So yeah, I think bad tactics is what is getting me.

He only killed me once, which is about 14 times less than , who either pummelled me into the ground or used Doom once his health got too low.
The only realistic way to beat him is to stagger him and use a Commando with the Launch skill to keep him in the air.

I tend to use Lightning (Ravager and Commando with Medic for emergencies), Fang (Commando and Sentinel) and Vanille (Ravager and Medic).
Lightning is by far my strongest character with moderate magic skills, but Fang has the highest HP and decent strength, so I control her as it's game over if your character dies.
Vanille is a better mage type character than Hope as she has good magic skills and higher HP (Hope has the lowest HP overall), and I don't really bother with Saboteur or Synergist roles.
The only enemy I have trouble with at the moment is the King Behemoth as they transform and regain their health as well as getting a more powerful attack
I say they look more like german/caveman then asians.
The Germans are coming to beat you with clubs and spears!

Dragon Age: Origins, for the millionth time. Was supposed to start the Witcher but DA:O is just too good of a game. Going to try and beat it with a two-handed warrior and take him to Awakening.

Bought Soul Silver at the request of a couple friends.  It's pretty fun.  Way more entertaining than Ruby/Sapphire or Diamond/Pearl.

FFXIII, just upto the chapter after the Byrnhildr fight (Who I only just beat with something like 10 seconds left on the doom counter). Found that I've died more times on random encounters than actual bosses, cept the boss deaths are mostly on Eidolon fights.

Also playing Just Cause 2, which is pretty entertaining. Have only done one faction mission so far, having too much fun exploring the place, which is bigger than I expected.

Despite my last post, I have beaten butcher bay. Had to turn the difficulty down for a short 30 minutes period though. It auto-saved when I had less then a half of a square of health for my mech thing which was my only effective weapon at the time.

on to Athena.

still playing lots of pokemon, but i've also been playing a lot of fifa 10 and two crude dudes with one of my friends.  we're getting a lot better at two crude dudes, but we're still not able to beat the last boss of the fourth stage just yet.

we were gonna play some fifa street but turns out my other ps2 controller is at uni and for some reason ps1 controllers won't work for it????? i have no clue why this is it's the same goddamn contorller

Depends on the game, actually. For some reason, some games don't allow PS1 controllers.
