I had one of the best multiplayer gaming sessions playing River City Ransom with a friend.  You can alternately help your bro out a lot and then be a huge dick, throwing tires at him so you can collect all the cash.  The best part of the game is the crazy selection of food out there.  It's like the developers got together one day and decided that players are really interested in a wide dining selection.  After a good deal of rough-housing out on the streets, you can go to the diner and decide whether you want pancakes or waffles, or maybe you'll splurge on the crepes.

Beat Descent, boss was relatively easy. Mainly because they give you invincibility power-ups all over the place. plus I purposefully left a few other power-ups untouched since I knew I'd be fighting the boss soon.

I basically emptied the entirety of my armory sized weapon supply into the end boss when making mad dashes back and forth when my invincibility was running out to start up another invincibility power-up. left the mine with 7/100 shield (health). Took me 3 tries.

Going to start up Descent 2 now. but first I'm going to add all the stuff I found in the game to Giant Bomb.

out of curiosity, anyone else here use/edit Giant Bomb?

Chrono Cross. Oh man, regardless of what people may say about this game, it truly has some epic moments. The scene where you save Kid from the burning orphanage, when she begs you to not leave her alone, and when she notes that your cheek is wet before you disappear.... And Lucca's letter to Kid. How she tells Kid that she's afraid that someone will go back in time to come and kill her and her friends, which turned out to come true, and how she suspects that Janus is still searching the world over for Kid.

..Yeah if you haven't played it (or at least Trigger) I guess you don't know what I'm talking about, but

I love this game a pile. Actually, I love the story more then the game itself, but whatever. It's the same thing.
Haha, this is pretty cool since I'm replaying Chrono Cross as well. Currently at Fort Dragonia (or whatever) the first time. It was always my least favourite dungeon in the game, so I haven't been too eager to drag myself through it since I have 3D Dot Game Heroes to play through, along with a few things on my iPod.

Yeah, Fort Dragonia was a little tedious, but it's easier for me since I basically know the right solution for all the puzzles, so I always just skip the treasure and go through it as fast as possible.

I'm currently trying to gather all characters in one savegame, and considering the different paths (+different characters) you can choose in a game, I had to replay quite some times to get them all in one game. Right now the only one I still need is Mel, then I'll have them all.

I've been working my way through Demon Legacy but keep getting killed by the Terra Idol in Sharn's town.
Just an hour ago I started playing a really fun  flash game called Sushi Cat.I t's fun and amusing. . . but I began wanting sushi. :fogetbackflip: I had to settle for some wasabi peas while I wait for steak dinner.

Everyone has the right to be himself; wise men know how to,when, and whether to navigate the boundary between their rights and those of others when they collide.

pretty far in final fantasy 13 now. on the whole, i don't think it's nearly as awful as it's made out to be. it's nowhere near where the hype would suggest it should be, and i can really only enjoy it at all because i had absolute zero expectations for it, but this game could have been so much worse. some of the character ideas almost work, sometimes the gameplay is fun, and there are a few short sections of the game that are fairly engaging. to be honest, this is more than i can really say for most games.

there have been other final fantasy games that were really nowhere near being acceptable, but i feel like this one wasn't awfully far from being a decent game. the story is awful and they pretty much give up on character development early on in the game and the locations are atrociously utilized most of the time, but i've still found the game kinda vaguely entertaining enough to keep at it. i more or less wanted to hate this game a lot more than i do, but they keep the inherently obnoxious nature of recent jrpgs in check to the point where i can at least digest it. outside of the disgustingly superficial way the characters are physically designed, i feel like they don't particularly over-glamorize them, which is something games have a nauseating habit of doing.

part of me wonders if the backlash for this game is primarily from people who are JUST NOW realizing that the final fantasy series has turned to shit. like they were too young to objectively evaluate final fantasy x and just enjoyed it for [thought ][/thought] and are just now old enough to see games for what they really are. fortunately i am a COOL CAT and have been on this bandwagon for a long time, so i've grown to expect a lot worse from these games.

that said, i don't want anybody thinking this is some glowing endorsement of this game. DO NOT GO OUT AND BUY THIS GAME EXPECTING ANYTHING FROM IT. if you're going to try this game, borrow it from somebody, or wait until you can get it for just a couple bucks on ebay. it's not really some worthwhile expenditure of your time, even by game standards. but i think if you go into it expecting absolutely nothing, and are really in the mood for a jrpg, it'll be moderately surprising. sometimes it clicks, most of the time it doesn't. that's about the par for the course.

I beat Silent Hill 3 yesterday. I wasn't expected to fight the FB at all so I didn't have a lot of supplies. I still managed to beat her though -- just barely, after using virtually everything I had.

I suppose I'll try to give P4 another shot....... They really should've made SP-restoring items available in stores. You could buy them in P2, so what gives??

Generally pissing people off in MW2, by nuke boosting back and forth with a friend of mine.  Kinda funny when our enemy team starts raging about "How'd you get a nuke with 11 deaths?" (friend was boosting AC130)

Also bought Red Dead Redemption.  Pretty much what you'd expect from a R* open world game.

playin' some mario galaxy 2 and I'm considering pretty much resigning myself to only getting mario games from now on. Every game is complete shit except for mario games. The last 3 games that I played that I thoroughly enjoyed on the consoles(not counting the retro throwback megaman games) have been: Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros., and Mario Galaxy 2

that's it. Nobody except for nintendo knows how to make videogames anymore!

for real everything else being made is some banal FPSs for people who drink rockstar energy drinks and have a boner for the military, a billion car racing and sports games that are identical to their previous releases, sandbox snoozefests, MMOs which are basically mental disorders that you pay a monthly fee for, and "playable" rpg animes.

meh i dunno i liked mario galaxy but after i completed the story i really didn't have the motivation to go collect all the remaining stars.

i don't know if i'm getting mario galaxy 2 yet, but luigi better be playable from the start as a character. nobody wants to collect 120 stars again after finally having found them all

The past few games have been more about rationing SP use.  Although, in P3, you could just exit to the lobby of Tartarus and not have to worry about it.  I do have to get around to playing P4 (and the rest of my Shin Megami Tensei backlog) again, it's just gathering dust.
