Playing ModNation Racers. The customization is great, far better than it seemed to be in the beta.
Loading times have become even more ridiculous, though. The game goes through a mandatory install when you boot it up, but races and such still take upwards of a minute in some cases to load???? There is something strange about that. All I can figure is that it must be poor programming.
It should really be addressed. When about a quarter of your play time is spent looking at loading screens, then something is certainly not right.
It's not really bad programming, it's to do with the compression methods used to deliver game content.
\united Front decided to compress content to cut download times and space requirements.
The problem is that it means the game has to decompress the data each time it's needed.
Some have commented that longer download times and shorter loading times would be better, but this would also increase server load and HDD usage.
I've also been playing ModNation, though I can never seem to find a race lobby with anyone in it.
Personally, I'm rocking a blood splattered Jason Voorhees.
I'm considering getting 3D Dot Game Heroes, but the more I look at it, the less I want it as I never really bothered with the old Zelda-style games.... Also, it's almost impossible to buy here.
According to The Sun, it's incredibly long at... 30 hours... When did 30 hours become a long time?
That says more about how short games are getting and about how long News Corp.'s reviewers have been playing games.
Red Dead Redemption has been described to me as GTA4 with horses by people I know that have played it, but GTA4 didn't interest me at all.
