I just finished braid. it was ok, but dissatisfying. I'm at a point where I'm not really sure if that's my problem or the game's. the game has plenty of stuff wrong with it but I feel like I should have been able to enjoy it anyway. it never got me engrossed and I think that might be because I've got a bad computer setup right now. awhile ago I played machinarium on a laptop with a dim, low-contrast screen and I'm pretty sure that game was ruined too. this time I've got a tiny old monitor and a chair that's too low for a desk that's two feet wide
well, what did you think of the ending of Braid?

not much. kinda forced, a little incongruous. it could have been a lot more successful if they had stuck to time travel and its consequences like Primer, or they could have even done something about all the TIMES he created running parallel, which I thought they were hinting at in the epilogue w/ the text but no

i've only played the demo for braid, but i kinda felt like it would be the sort of game that would be a lot easier to really dig into if there hadn't been such an absurd amount of hype surrounding it. i kinda went into it thinking SO THIS IS THE GAME EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT HUH and i ended up finishing the demo, being pretty underwhelmed, and not really thinking about it again. i think i might feel differently if i blindly stumbled onto this game and went into it with no expectations.

of course i'm a curmudgeon and look for ways to dislike the games that i'm supposed to like(and usually don't have a lot of difficulty doing so).

uhh wtf is APB?
http://rev-depot.com/2010/07/02/apb-review/

If TLDR.... A PvP MMO that seems really cool at first, but gets boring after a while and will you depress you with it's never ending technical issues.

Anyway, playing Tekken 6 on the PSP. Trying to get to the Tekken God rank or whatever with Asuka. Currently at 229 wins and 1 loss at the Overlord rank!

Even thoght I just got a PS2 and some games but not inthe mood for it right now. I've been playing The Tiamat Sacrament and am stuck on the last ice puzzle in Mythra PEak.. I guess I'll take a peek at the walkthrough vids.
@benos: there are plenty of side view creatures and sprites- you just have to look  n the right places. Bogleech might even make you some nifty monsters if you ask! And as for "SOLDIER"- That's the problem with backronyms.  I suggest "Servants Of Law and Defense, Independently Embedded Regiment."

Beat Jade Empire, got the Open Palm ending. Glad it gave me the epilogue to all the individual characters.

A lot of Bioware games do this.

Alien Swarm is super good. Especially for a free game.

I decided to grab Jade Empire off of steam since 15 bucks for an rpg seems like a good deal. I remember liking it a whole lot, short but sweet. I remember the xbox special edition had a monk does the pc version have extra styles?

IDK about starting styles (I went with a thousand cuts), but the special edition does have Iron Palm and Viper style that you can unlock late in the game. Iron palm is Open Palm only, and Viper is Closed Fist. I never ended up using Iron Palm though, so I don't know its effectiveness.

I went with the monk as my character before even knowing it was a PC only. Mainly because he was the only male that didn't look like a douche or was bare chested like a moron. :P

Anyway, been playing Psychonauts. Pretty fun, and as far I can tell its well made.
Its got a cool art style and good writing and voice acting. But gameplay wise I don't think I've gotten to the awesome parts. As it plays like any other platformer thus far. A well made and solid platformer, but nothing spectacular.

Just tried out Limbo, I don't think I was getting the right atmosphere having an Xbox 360 fan whirring next to my ear. But man, dying is so unexpected and horrible in the game? It's a weird subtle unforgiving kind of game.

Primarily free and cheap ipod touch games that are short as I am a tight idiot with a short attention span for most games, so i try to play a variety that'll keep me amused for short periods of time! I wish I had the mindset for puzzle games as they seem to be the only real form of game the iphone is good at doing, it's just that I can't seem to find the motivation to play puzzle games for any length of time without my mind going astray.

Battle for Wesnoth is a pretty good buy though as It's a decent turn based game,  seems to have translated somewhat ok from pc to ipod.

Also Alien Swarm which is fun in short sessions and it's very polished for a free game!

Oh yeah, I bought Limbo yesterday. And beat it yesterday, too.

I really, really liked it. For some reason the ending left a huge impression on me. Something about that last puzzle going into the slow-mo part and then the last bit. Really cool, I thought. I enjoyed it. Wish it wasn't $15 but I liked it.
