I heard they took out LAN except for esports or MLG or whatever people play pro starcraft for. I don't get the reason for the removal at all, but I don't play LAN starcraft anymore and I never really played it competitively.

I don't know anything about this starcraft campaign but none of the bioware games I played broke the campaign into separate chunks for no good reason. the neverwinter nights expansion packs were all standalone campaigns with expansion content. baldur's gate II is pretty much a whole new game and it functions as a standalone campaign. you can complete the Baldur's Gate campaign in its entirety without being obligated to import that character into BGII and start a whole new story
well when I played Jade Empire and Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins and watched my friends play the two KOTORs they all felt like the same game in different settings to me. That's what I meant. Also they did have a good reason for splitting up the campaign into chunks: They can focus more on each story and really push the narrative in an RTS game. so instead of 3 10 mission campaigns, we get 3 30 mission campaigns, fully detailing the epic or whatever storyline of Starcraft 2
don't mind me, just postin' after a few brewskies

How about "I grew up playing SC1 with my friends in our school's computer lab and I'm excited about the sequel"????? As shitty as Phantom Menace was, you can't fucking tell me you were surprised that people were excited about a new Star Wars. This was an iconic game when I was 12, of course I'm excited to try the sequel.
I was thinking of editing my post to capitalize SHOULD because it's ambiguous but I decided against it. so they're not interested and there's really no reason to think they should be besides well it's supposed to be a big deal

I don't understand all the noncomformist hate for Starcraft? It's a great game, and while I'm a little disappointed that the sequel doesn't really try anything new (despite having 12 years to innovate), I can't say I'm NOT going to play it. Maybe it's not as great as Total Annihilation but they are still great RTS games?

I mean I get it if you don't like RTS games, and I get it if you're disappointed with it, but I'm a little surprised by all the NYUH UH NOT EVEN GONNA PLAY IT responses.

I played the beta and found it underwhelming compared to Red Alert 3, which isn't really that great a game either.

My benchmark is Red Alert 2. The perfect RTS. Reinstalled on my PC at least 2 or 3 times a year. My... my precious.

I've been playing the SC2 singe player campaign all day today and it's pretty amazing; easily the best single player campaign in any RTS I've ever played

The beta doesn't do it Justice. Single player is bad-ass and there is more units then the beta.

Currently installing SCII. I don't plan on playing online because honestly I suck at RTSes. I plan on just playing the single player campaign at a leisurely pace.

Playing SCII (Bandwagon, I guess)  Gonna 2v2 with one of my friends who is in the Platinum League (while I suck horribly)   Single player is pretty fun so far, as everyone said

you should at least try playing some custom games because the map editor is powerful enough to make basically any genre of game out there.

This is true but it's a bitch too use. not as easy as the first SC editor.

Would the script limit on maps not limit your creativity to a point? I don't really know how much SC2 map scripting takes up, but 2mb doesn't exactly seem generous.

Oh wow difficulty really ramps up in Far Cry around the midpoint. Frickin enemies that don't go down to head shots unless they are sniper rifle head shots.

Currently playing The Saboteur and enjoying it so far! I'm glad I brought it now, I just need to get Resident Evil 5 which is £10 so far or shall I wait for it to drop to £8 first?

Not sure how they can justify selling a platformer for 15 dollars, are there even anything to do outside the basic single player?

No... Damn you E3 for giving 5/5...

The artistic value is very shortlived, the game quickly goes from running around in a forest full of mysterious creatures to a boring ass warehouse moving boxing circa portal and tbh the puzzles don't seem clever or intuitive.
I am pissed.

I just got Braid a while ago and was amazed and invigorated by these "indie" platformers and tbh it looks like the moguls figured out what was going on and started cashing in
ugh 15$?... screw this game. i even had to buy more points to get this

Hmm. It's not worth $15, I agree, but I think it's a pretty quality game.
