Oh wow we lost like three days of posts from this topic.

Playing Puzzle Agent at the moment, it's pretty good so far. I finished DeathSpank with all achievements in 11 hours, so despite being short is was definitely funny and enjoyable.

edit: I'm now so addicted to openttd that when I see a SCREENSHOT of the game I feel like pressing x (which hides buildings so you can see road/rail plans).

It doesn't work.

Sekai: Rainbow Project. I'm just starting to explore the use of Lika's Copycat ability, which learns animal's special attacks. I wonder if it would have worked on the Sharkuza since he was n a sense part animal?

yo so i was playing black ops right and idk the party up system is whack tbh,.. but whats worse is the little dude announcing everything. and this phantom voice is some kind of crass stereotyping (russian, blackl) just repeating all the GREAT things the other team is doing, enemy jammin our radar, enemy carepackage incoming, enemy spy planes active its like dog alright enough relax idk can I turn this dumb voice off?

In New Vegas you get into the bed and they make SOUNDS while it fades to black. It's pretty RACEY.

Also WoW is actually heaps of fun now that Cataclysm has hit. well except for Outlands, it still sucks dick mostly.

You're pretty much paying for a bed. Except buying a bed is generally cheaper.

So it's utterly pointless.

just finished an impromptu speedrun of new vegas without firing a bullet. played it on VERY EASY though because i didn't really have a plan and just ran away from everybody. i don't think this is particularly possible on the harder difficulties without really sitting down and planning it all out beforehand. the roughest part is definitely going straight from goodsprings to new vegas at level 1 without getting mauled by deathclaws. the designers REALLY did not want the player doing that, but they didn't make it impossible. actually the biggest problem i had is that the game randomly spawned the alpha male deathclaw at the entrance to hidden valley, which really fucked me up. pretty sure this was a glitch though, as that sort of deathclaw shouldn't spawn outside of quarry junction(or really that far east for that matter).

still, the main quest is actually extremely short if you take the wild card route and just say FUCKIT to all the important things the main quest suggests you do. managed to complete the game from start to finish this way in almost exactly four and a half hours(with reloads unfortunately; fucking deathclaws), which is pretty good given the circumstances. probably could have finished it in under three hours if i had planned it out in advance and went out of my way to take the quickest route. pretty sure running from new vegas all the way to cottonwood cove wasn't the best method for doing this.

Although I can see the logic in them choosing cottonwood cove as the starting point of the boat route I still don't get why it isn't possible to just swim to the legion base and use your credentials to enter through the same gate you otherwise would have.

I am now playing "Uncharted 2", for the ps3. Really good game. Having lots of fun with the "fat character" thanksgiving update. I'll be sad to see it leave tomorrow. ;(

i'm such a rebel. i didn't even set up videocapture it or figure out a way to get a tool-assisted time either. :(

the next speedrun i'm going to do is fallout new vegas 100% completion while submerged in 25 feet of water(the xbox and myself)

You're right. Creating and executing the shortest path to completion of a game on a frame to frame basis is not impressive at all. It will never have it's own TAS category and will never be accepted by the community let alone have their own website.

Because that's all it is. Beating a game with cheats.

E:

Seriously over five hours to record a five minute segment taking twenty two thousand savestates to complete. If you don't think there is skill in this aspect of speedrunning I would love for you to attempt the same thing and see how many hours/ savestates it takes you to get within the same range before you realize how hard it actually is to compete.

Aliens Vs. Predator is 66% off on steam, bringing it to $6.80 USD. The rest of the sale I'm uninterested in or already own.

Should I get it? It looks like a decent shooter but from what I've heard the multiplayer is weak (and likely dead at this point) and the single player is 1 part generic Shooter, 1 part iffy FP Melee, and 1 part iffy FP stealth. Equalling a lot of game hours but nothing super spectacular.

Thing is, $6.80 might just be about what it's worth. but I am unsure.

Just picked up KOTOR and Monkey Island 2 since they were on sale on steam. I'm not really that into Star Wars but for $2.50 how could I resist? I actually just beat the first Monkey Island a few weeks ago so this sale came right at the exact time.
