I have been playing a Zelda II rom via Nestopia on my mac, up until the hidden palace in which it becomes all jumbled and looks like this:

When I first ran Zelda, it said something about being a "Bad Dump" file or something along those lines - but the game continued to run great until this moment. I ran it on Rocknes and it didn't seem to come up with the same "Bad Dump" error like Nestopia did.  So I figured I could just run the game in Rocknes and continue where I left off - much to my surprise I could not, and when you save within the game it does not save to the actual rom file.

So here is my predicament.
How can I continue my saved game from Nestopia to Rocknes in hopes that it will not jumble up the hidden palace? OR how can I fix the rom in order to continue playing through the hidden palace? OR should I just try and beat the palace despite not being able to distinguish anything?

Thanks.

A bad rom is a bad rom. Your best bet is to find a better rom and download a save file/ savestate for that rom and pick up closest to where you left off.

Yeah, replacing your rom is about your only option.  Next time it says bad dump, assume that it's telling the truth.  Just because the other emulator didn't tell you the same thing doesn't mean it's not true.  Sorry about your luck!

It may be possible to load your save state while running a correctly dumped version of the same game. Just save before the glitched part, then load the correct ROM, then load the save state (despite potential complaints by the emulator that the state and ROM don't match).
