No, I went in and they had a copy. I haven't seen any since but yeah, no problems getting my hands on a copy here.

Yeah, I know what you mean.  Sunday, I went up to the local mall and checked a few stores, none of them had the game.  Gamestop only "ordered the limited edition" and those sold out in three days.  Ended up ordering it on Amazon, and it just came today.  Just waiting to play it, now.

Murex and I played for a couple hours last night. I like the way Noel plays, but she's weak and fragile, so I don't know if I'm going to main her. Hakumen has this cool counter-based design and I have no idea how to be effective but the idea intrigues me so I'll probably practice with him a bit more. Also? Iron Tager can burn in hell.

Hey, give me your opinions on Bang? He's the character that I've been most interested in and I really want to give him a try.

I haven't really played as him other than his awesome special move thing I don't want to spoil.

Hakumen seems to be my favorite right now.  A highly technical character, if you ask me.  Any chance you gents are playing on 360?  Add the gamertag Lord Nikuru to your list, I'd love to play a few games.

Wahahaha, is your puny American mind unable to comprehend the true power of Russian Science?

Seriously though, it's great to see so many people having fun, although I'm still jealous. Eh, it won't be too bad, I'll hit the arcade again at some point, and probably give Tager and Litchi a whirl. And yes, Haku-Men is a great character.

Bah. Oh well, I've watched some Bang videos on YouTube and he looks like a lot of fun.

Still wondering when the hell this is going to arrive in the mail. I ordered from Hong Kong, not the freaking moon.

I would buy this but I'm getting kind of sick of how every fighting game caters to stick users and shits on anyone who uses a gamepad.

I know how you feel. I couldn't pull off many combos at all in Street Fighter IV because it simply felt impossible to do some of the inputs quickly enough. Some inputs seemed to have to be done milliseconds after the last or something, I don't know.  I'm hoping (assuming) that BlazBlue is different.

I'll have fun with it even if it is like that though.

The MadCatz Fightpad that they released with Street Fighter IV works wonderful with this game.

I always thought this was just me!  I plan on buying a stick someday anyway because I find them more comfortable to use but still I always felt like a lot of the moves in SF4 are completely impossible to manage.

Yeah, I'm half-tempted to pick up one of those fightpads next time I'm up around BestBuy.  Although, I don't think there's a whole lot of timing issues in the game, combo-wise.  Then again, I'm not a very technical fighter.

Man, they actually carry those? I had to order it from Amazon and they were out of the cool ones.

Yeah, they do have 'em on occasion.  When I was looking for BlazBlue, they had two of the fightpads in stock.  Chun-Li and Akuma, I wanna say.

Edit:  Forgot to mention that over at BestBuy, they were priced the same as a regular 360 controller.  Had no interest in dropping $60 for one of those fightpads.   :fogetangry:

Most of the time it's actually not how fast you can pull it off. There are certain frames after moves that allow you to continue with a combo. It takes a lot of playing time/practice to know where these open frames are so you know when to pull off the combos. A fighting stick does little to help this, but they help with comfort and that is a huge plus.

also man fighting sticks go so fast online. They have good deals on them all the time too. I am never quick enough.

Ah man yeah I dropped ... $40ish plus shipping on it, I think. Got the Ryu one, so that I can softly whisper Hadoooooouken into my opponent's ear after each victory.

Nah, I think it's a widespread problem. I think it's because the supposed "hardcore" fighters are becoming slightly more mainstream (SF becoming mainstream "again" with SF4) so a lot of people who are used to typical 3D fighters (See: Just about anything that Namco puts out) are just unable to do the combos efficiently at all.

My closest friend, who I can play fighting games for hours with, becomes a master at just about everything he plays (making it unfun to play against him sometimes, haha) and even he couldn't come to grips with the timing of SF4 combos.

Not being able to pull of the combos didn't stop the game from being a blast though, because it was still a heck of a lot of fun to play with a bud. I'd much rather put a game into my PS3 that has easily chainable combos though, such as Soul Calibur IV.

Anyway, my copy of BlazBlue has been halfway across the country since last Friday, awaiting review by customs. Should it.. Uh.. Normally take a full week???
