Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, who led the famous Tennessee Titans' drive that came a yard short of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl, was found dead Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head. Police said a pistol was discovered near the body of a woman also shot dead in a downtown condominium.

The rest can be found here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4306275

I think it is safe to say too many people are dying recently.   I was never necessarily a huge fan but you never expect things like this to happen.  The story around the death is a little iffy, but I guess he was very involved with the community and wanted to be a role model for kids.  Pretty crappy world when people want to kill people like that.

Well it sucks I seem to miss Billy Mays more and I wish Jackson stops getting news coverage or a least less. I believe 2 day of new coverage of the same thing is fine but when 2 weeks roll around and I’m still seeing 90% of the news about Jackson it is ridiculous. because I’m sure there is other news going out there that can be addressed to the masses. But no let give them more update about Jackson instead.

Never was in to football but I'm Philadelphia Eagles man I just don't follow players often other then Engles Key players. (Brian Westbrook)

i really hope this is a real news story

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

You only really see that stuff on animal planet and such.
A tool is a tool regardless. I mean if you suck, you suck, and not even the most perfect tool could save you. And if your damn good then even with the worst tool ever conceived you could chug out some high quality shit.

This guy is relatively obscure (to me), though.  These pro football players die all the time.  Just a few months ago, 2-3 NFL guys and one college football player were lost at sea here on the Gulf of Mexico.  Days passed, and the boat wreckage was found, with one lone (and probably insane) survivor.

For those who don't know anything about football, then yea, it's obscure.  But this guy is like a big name and it was a double homicide so it's kinda a big thing.  Those guys on the Gulf were not big named players.

The water wasn't calm, their boat flipped in the middle of the night and they weren't able to hold on to it save one who had a hold of the motor when they found him.
