i wish those girls would just go marry a japanese man and realize "oh fuck this is awful, i am not able to have a job and my husband can basically do whatever he wants to me and i am not allowed to do anything about it except BUCK UP, because women are treated horribly in japan...if only america was like this!"

I think you're talking about arabs today women in japan have jobs etc.

aww yeah arabs are S.C.U.M.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

man tvtropes is a pretty awful site, it was pretty ok at first and I thought some of it was funny, like they had like 20 different types of plot twists etc., but then I realized 1. all the terms are sort of just invented on the site I think so a flfddfmfmuzzle might be a concept you know but they give it some stupid name so you don't know what it means, or like some other name like THE LAUGHING TOOLSHED which again sounds abstract but somehow they explain it but there's probably 1000x better name for it. 2. Nobody actually knows TV there's a billion anime references instead. Like there was another article about nostalgia making things seem a lot better than it was and I was looking forward to some good discussion about random 80's cartoons or something... but then it's like 'in Mobile Action Suit Ryutetsubakeichido blahblahblah nobody gives a shit. Sometimes video game references were funny though like yeah actually most NES games were hard and annoying and it's just you'd never seen a DINOSAUR before so you had an incredible capacity to stay interested compared to today. It still wasn't anything beyond the obvious though besides when somebody pointed out Final Fantasy Legend inspired the stupid scene in Matrix Reloaded with the architect. There was probably some good obscure stuff but the whole thing just reeked of anime like not even at the level of completely esoteric pop culture knowledge they only had useful knowledge up to anime level

I mean that sarcastically like pop culture knowledge isn't useful either but their collected knowledge wasn't even at that level of uselessness, it was still in the anime tier. It even broke down into WEBCOMICS, I dunno what comes after webcomics... maybe 'radio dramas of video game characters' would come next in the seven circles of relaying useless knowledge to other hopeless nerds who probably know this stuff already

ok there were some good articles like on how every historical movie happens to have famous songs playing all the time and if there's a TV it will constantly be showing THE MOON LANDING or some other significant event... also it was anime the fuck but a lot of it was sarcastic making fun of itself... like about how there's a small group of people still speculating about Final Fantasy VIII like 'actually future rinoa was squall's baby momma but time compression makes it ok' yeah I'm pretty sure they just did the one or two drugs in japan and/or pulled random plot ideas out of a hat near the end

Actually, you're talking about the Muslims. "Same thing!" Not all people who are of Middle Eastern descent follow religion.

i was exaggerating on that bit--women in japan today CAN have jobs yeah, but their choice of jobs are very limited and they aren't gonna get them if there's a man nearby wanting the job.  there are still cases of women in japan disguising themselves as men to get jobs so still not the best place to go as a woman (especially if you're from a country where women have more or less equal rights as men).  the rest of it was 100% true tho, i just needed to clarify the job thing.

The United States is not one of the ten best. But at least it’s not one of the ten worst (countries to be a woman in).

The Ten Best: Iceland, Norway, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, Netherlands, and France.

The Ten Worst: Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Nepal, Sudan, Guatemala, Mali, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Somalia.

Says who?  That's bullshit man, did they poll Japanese women for that because they can only judge how good their lives are based on what they know, which is shit!  You are just arguing this because you like arguing with me, everyone knows it's shit to be a woman in Japan even if it's not the WORST place.  It's not the kind of place you leave the States for as a woman.

yeah so i guess things like this just don't exist:

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/06/world/asia/06equal.html?_r=1

The GDI only shows
Quote
the inequalities between men and women in the following areas: long and healthy life, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.

That leaves out a LOT of factors, and I wouldn't use that as the be-all end-all of how easy it would be to live in a country, ESPECIALLY when we're talking about moving from one country to the other.  Women in Japan are probably much more satisfied with their lives than a woman moving TO Japan from somewhere else.

Also how about

Quote
The GDI is not a measure of gender inequality. It is the HDI adjusted for gender disparities in its basic components.

edit: w/e you're a troll i'm not doing this again
